This indenture made and entered into this 5th of October 1866 between ZADOCK RAMSEY of the one part and MICAGER RECTOR and A.E. BAIRD of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars paid by the said ZADOCK RAMSEY the receipt whereof hereby acknowledged hath bargain, sold and delivered and by these presents doth bargain, sell and deliver unto the said ZADOCK RAMSEY his heirs, executors and administrators and assigns a certain piece of land lying in the County of Buncombe and State of North Carolina in the Forks of Turkey Creek and Sandy Mush joining the lands of SILAS JAMES, JOHN NETHERTON, which is now owned by R.J. PONDER, JEREMIAH REDMON bounded as follows viz.: Beginning at a stake the south east corner of a fifty acre tract of JEREMIAH REDMON deed and granted WEST LUNSFORD and then west along the south end line of the ? ? tract fifty poles to a stake near the branch REDMON did live on and on the line of the side WEST LUNSFORD or original THOS. HARRISON granted REDMON now lives on the south and along the line and JOHN NETHERTON land sold to R.J. PONDER eighty poles to a stake on the said tract NETHERTON now lives on originally granted to THOS. FREEMAN, then east with that line ninety poles to a stake near SILAS JONES line and on the top of a dividing ridge between Turkey Creek and Sandy Mush, then northwardly and along the top of said dividing ridge as it meanders one hundred and ten poles to a stake on the top of it, then west forty poles to a stake on the line of the before mentioned WEST LUNSFORD fifty acre tract or grant, then south and with that line twenty poles to the beginning containing fifty acres more or less, which said piece of land we the said McCAGER RECTOR and A.E. BAIRD doth warrant and defend the same unto the said ZADOCK RAMSEY his executors, administrators and assigns from ourselves and heirs and assigns and all manner of persons whatsoever clean and free with everything thereto pertaining with all the ways, waters, mines, minerals, and hereditaments and appurtenances thereto belonging or anywise appertaining. The executors of the within deed from A.E. BAIRD and McCAGER RECTOR to Z. RAMSEY on this 1st day of October 1869 acknowledged before the undersigned Judge of Probate for said County by A.E. BAIRD and McCAGER RECTOR. Therefore let this said deed with this certificate be registered.
