Know all men by these presents that I DAVID VANCE of the County of Buncombe and State of North Carolina and held and firmly bound unto MARY RECTOR in the sum of twenty five dollars to which payment will and truly to be made and done witness my hand and seal this April 25th A.D. 1840. The condition of the above obligation is such that I the said D. Vance have this day sold a certain tract of land to the said MARY RECTOR lying on the head of Case Balls Branch joining the land of JOHN ANDREWS and JAMES RECTOR known as the JOISE RECTOR SEN. place. The little to be made wherein MARY RECTOR think it advisable or right and if the said VANCE complies with his contract these this obligation to be void else to remain in full force and effect.
