This Indenture made and entered into this 28th December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty between GREEN H. FREEMAN of the County of Buncombe and State of North Carolina of the one part and MICAJAH RECTOR of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to me in hand paid by the P. or T. RECTOR the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, I the G. FREEMAN hath bargained and sold unto the Mr. P. or T. RECTOR a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County and State aforesaid and on the head of a branch emptying into the Bear Creek and on the west side beginning on a large white oak, then west sixty three poles to a chestnut oak on the side of the mountain, then south one hundred and twenty seven poles to a post oak on or near the top of the mountain, then east sixty three poles to a stake, then to the beginning containing fifty acres and the said FREEMAN doth by these presents bind myself my heirs, executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend from my heirs and every other person the above described premises unto the said RECTOR give under my hand and seal, year and date above written.
