Know all men presents I JOEL RECTOR for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to me in hand paid by BAIRD & VANCE (merchants) the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have bargained, sold and delivered and by these presents do bargain sell and deliver unto the said BAIRD & VANCE one gray mare and sorrel mare, two cows & calves, eight head of hogs, eight head of sheep, one set of blacksmith tools, one set of bench tools, and one two-horse wagon & gearing. To have and to hold the said bargained premises unto the said BAIRD & VANCE their executors, administrators and assigns forever and I the said JOEL RECTOR for myself my executors and administrators shall and will warrant and forever defend against all persons by these presents the said bargained premises to the said BAIRD & VANCE their executors, administrators and assigns provided ? that if the said JOEL RECTOR my executors, administrators or assigns or any of us do and shall, will and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said BAIRD & VANCE their executors, administrators or assigns the sum of eighty two dollars sixty two & ? cents due by note of hand bearing date 28th April 1836 against the 1st day of March 1837 with lawful interest for the same for redemption of the said bargained premises then this bill of sale to be void or else to remain in full force & virtue. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 28th of April 1836.
