This deed made this 26th day of may 1888 by C.G. RECTOR of Madison County and State of North Carolina of the first part to J.B. RECTOR of Madison County and State of North Carolina of the second part. Witnesseth that said C.G. RECTOR in consideration of two hundred dollars to him paid by J.B. RECTOR the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged has bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey to said J.B. RECTOR and his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land in Marshall Township Madison County, State of North Carolina adjoining the lands of G.G. RECTOR and SARAH RECTOR and others bounded. Beginning a large old rock chimney and low stake at the mouth of a branch known as the JOEL RECTOR’S land on the west side of French Broad River and runs down and with the meanders of the river to the mouth of the branch that ELIZABETH RECTOR now lives on then westward to the South East corner of the LEWIS RECTOR line to G.G. RECTOR line then Southward with said line to the beginning containing fifty acres more or less. To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land and all privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said J.B. RECTOR and his heirs and assigns to his only use and behoof forever and the said C.G. RECTOR covenants and to and with the said J.B. RECTOR and his heirs and assigns that he is seized of said premises in fee and has right to convey the same n fee simple that the same are free from all incumbencies and that he will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said C.G. RECTOR has hereunto set his hand and seal this day and year above written.
