This indenture made the twenty ninth day of July and in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen between ISAAC FREEMAN of the State of North Carolina and County of Buncombe of the one part and MICAGER RECTOR of the said State and County of the other part. Witnesseth that for the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to him the said ISAAC FREEMAN in hand paid by the said MICAGER RECTOR for a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred acres being in the County and State aforesaid and on the south side of French Broad River beginning and running as follows viz.: First beginning on a white pine near the head of JOSEPH MISES branch, thence north one hundred and fifteen poles to a dogwood in the head of a hollow, thence east one hundred and forty poles to another dogwood, thence south one hundred and fifteen poles to a stake, thence to the beginning. Together with all thoughts, members, appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining unto the said MICAGER RECTOR his heirs and assigns forever and I the said ISAAC FREEMAN do bind myself my heirs, executors and administrators and assigns to warrant and forever defend the said from all person or persons claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof. I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the day and date above written in the presence of us.
