29th Ohio Infantry - Civil War
David Adkins (Adkinson) Pension Application
David served in the Virginia line for two terms and received a pension for
his service under pension number S35762. He served in Capt. Wallen's company
for eighteen months and then served in Capt. Laird's company for another
eighteen months, both companies under the command of Colonel Washington. He
was present at the Battle of Camden and Guilford Courthouse.
Reuben Brainard
Jehoiakim Burgett, Sr.
James Wright Pension Application
James served two years in the Connecticut line in the company commanded
by Captain Tuttle and in the regiment commanded by Col Bradley. He was
27 years old when he began his service. His wife applied for a pension and
his children received the pension that their mother was eligible to receive
for James' service in her widowhood.
War of 1812
David Brainard Service Record
David served first as a private and then as a sergeant in Lieutenant
Henry Brakeman's Company of Detached Miliita in the New York Regiment
commmanded by Lieutenant Colonel Farrington. He is shown on the rolls
beginning August 24, 1812 and ending March 4, 1813.
Henry T Moore Service Record
Henry served as a substitute for David French, as a private, in
Capt. Clark Parker's Company of Infantry in Rayen's Regiment of the
Ohio Militia. He appears on the rolls beginning August 22, 1812 and
was discharged February 27, 1813. No pension application was found.

Ancestor's Records
Braden Allen Abbott Pension Application
Braden served as a private in Co. A, 8th Regiment West Virginia Infantry
which became the 7th West Virgiia Cavalry in the same company. He was
26 years old when he enlisted. He served from July 27, 1861 to August 1, 1865, when he mustered
out as a corporal. A request for his service record resulted in the
record not being found. He received a pension for his service.
Conant Eden Brainard Service Record -
Pension Application
Conant served as a private in company B of the 29th Ohio Infantry,
enlisting August 19, 1861. He was 33 years old. He died March 30,
1862 of illness at an army
hospital in Martinsburg, Virginia. His wife applied for and received
a pension for his service.
Henry Jefferson Evans Service Record

Henry enlisted October 1, 1863 at Grayson, Kentucky and was assigned to Co. C of the 40th
Kentucky Mounted Infantry. He gave his age as 42 years. He mustered
out December 30, 1864 at Catlettsburg, Kentucky as a private. He
received a pension for his service.
Martin S Falin Service Record

Martin mustered into service as a corporal in Co. C of the 40th KY
Mounted Infantry on September 26, 1863 at Grayson Kentucky. He gave
his age as 22 years, though other records indicate he was probably
20 years old. He was mustered out a private on December 30, 1864
at Catlettsburg, Kentucky. He received a pension for his service
and after his death his widow received the pension.
Harrison Martin Pension Application
Harrison enlisted to serve as a private in the 125th Ohio Regiment and
began duty in Cleveland, but was taken sick before the other soldiers
were assigned companies. He recovered and returned to service, but
again took ill before being assigned to a company. His wife applied
for a pension, but her application was rejected.
Edward Sansom Pension Application
Edward served in the West Virginia Homeguards for Boone County from
1861 to 1863. He applied for a pension, but his claim
was rejected for not being in the United States service.
Pensions obtained by ancestors for service of relative
Charles Cotton - for service of son, James Cotton Pension Application
James Cotton served as a private in the 7th West Virginia Cavalry and
died shortly after the end of the Civil War. His father received a
pension as the invalid father of a deceased soldier.
Amelia (Cochran)(Cotton) Raines - for service of husband Granville G Raines Pension Application
Amelia Raines received a pension for the service of her second husband,
Granville G Raines, who served as a private for the 7th West Virginia
Cavalry.
