Abbott Family Cemetery
Lincoln county, West Virginia
I made these transcriptions following the funeral of my great great grandmother,
Mariah Hester Cotton in 1989. At the same time my brother and I took pictures of most of
the markers. These
are linked to the names in the transcription below. This small family cemetery
is near Hamlin and is referred to as being “at the left fork of the Mud River”
by relatives. At the time, Mariah only had a funeral marker. We returned to
bury the ashes of my grandmother, Dorothy Cotton Falin, and the photo of Mariah's
headstone was taken then.
