Johannes Braun was born on 14 September 1796 at Schwarzwaldkreis, Württemberg.1 He was the son of Jacob Braun and Magdaline Ottmar.1 Johannes Braun married, at age 27, Margarete Barbare Dengler, age 32, daughter of Johann Georg Dengler and Margarete Küster, on Wednesday, 12 May 1824 at Evangelical Church, Ebhausen, Oberamt Calw, Schwarzwaldkreis, Württemberg.1 Johannes Braun died on 26 April 1854 at Württemberg at age 57 years, 7 months and 12 days.1
He became a widower at the age of 52 with the death of Margarete on 27 March 1849.1
