Maria THORNTON^1,2 [295], daughter of Frank THORNTON ( -bef1849) [996] and Elizabeth THORNTON** ( -bef1849) [997], was born in 1832 in Ballyconnel, Co. Cavan, Ireland.^1,3 She emmigrated from Ireland to Australia on 16 December 1848. on the ship "Digby" carrying famine orphan females.⁴ In 1848 she was a follower of the Church of England faith . She was educated read and write in 1848 . In 1849 she was a house servant .⁵ She married James WRIGHT [294] on 4 May 1858 in Armidale, NSW.⁶ She married Thomas GOGGINS [446].
