There were at least eight children in that family. Those whose names are known were early settlers of Laclede County in Missouri about 1838:

George Allen Simpson. born in 1823( one source says 1818) in Warren County Kentucky. He married Elizabeth Racheal Lambert (daughter of Nancy Lambert of Warren county) there in 1842 and soon moved to Spring Garden, Miller County, Mo., where two of his children were born. They later moved to Cole County, Mo., near Hickory Hills where six more children were born. About this time, News of the California gold rush was spreading. Allen moved his family to Hazelgreen Laclede county, Mo., to be nearer relatives. He left then there in 1856 to seek his fortune in the gold fields of California. He earned passage on a wagon train as a chief cook. His success was limited. He returned with $500 in gold pieces. He traveled by Cape Horn to St. Louis where he bought a horse for the final leg of his journey. Unfortunately, he found that his wife had died and his nine children were scattered among other families who cared for them. He remarried in 1859 to Sarah Jane Chambers and soon gathered his children back to his home. He lived in the eastern part of Laclede County until 1875, when he left for Hunt county, TX. with Peyton Chambers (probably his wife's brother). Peyton did not survive the trip, and Allen died soon after in 1876. His widow, Sarah, lived until 1896 with her daughter, Sarah. BENJAMIN FRANK SIMPSON
Born April 22,1853 died 1922, according to his gravestone at Rose Hill Cemetery (reads 1853-1922). The 1910 census lists him as 58. He was born in Missouri and was thought to be of Scotch-Irish and possibly German stock. In the census, his father was listed as being born in Tennessee (1880 and Indiana(1910). Apparently he did not really know. His mothers birthplace is listed as Tennessee.

In about 1878-9, he married
Alice Cansady (or Calsady) Stone, (although 1910 census calls her Allice S. Simpson) . 1859-1936 according to her headstone at Rose Hill Cemetary in Wapanucka. A family tradition says she was born in 1862, and the 1910 census lists her as 49. She may actually have been the source of German blood in the family. They were married in 1878 or 1879. She was born in Missouri. Her mother was born in Kentucky (or possibly Mo.), and her father was born in Kentucky. They lived in Laclede County Mo. in 1880, where their first 2 children were born. He had a brother 2 years younger who lived there with his wife Sarah. They were thought to have come by covered wagon to the Wells Valley area just 3 miles west of Wapanucka I.T. in what was then the Chickasaw Nation. This was in about 1890. However in 1900 they were not in the IT census. It is possible that they were not living in Indian Territory at that time, but the 1910 Census lists all their children still at home as having been born in Oklahoma. At that time they were in Seminole County, Konawa township. They were a farm family. Sometime after 1910 they bought a farm about 2 miles north of Wapanucka in NW/4 section 12, R8E, T2S. This land is presently occupied by a racetrack and stables. His son Frank later purchased the adjoining farm. S. F. Simpson also lived for a while in the southwest corner of town below the hill where the city water tower is located. He may have died there. A neighbor, Mr. Reem, had passed him there and thought he was asleep on the porch, but he later was discovered to have died. His folks were on a wagon trip to Boise City, at the time.

The Simpson family were associated with the Campbellites (The Christian Church?).

They had 9 daughters and 2 sons, the sons being the youngest. The girls were all older than the boys (the census indicates that there were 2 children who were not living by 1900). Their children were;
