OMINO NEWMAN

OMINO NEWMAN, fifth child of John Franklin and Nancy Emma Newman was born December 8, 1894 at the Newman Home, Rusk County, Texas. Omino spent her early childhood years on the farm and she attended Mt. Union School which was located just above the family home on top of the sandy hill. She only completed the fourth grade. She married, age 18, THOMAS ALLEN JACKSON, age 22, on March 16, 1913 in Nacogdoches County, Texas. Tom was born January 22, 1891. During their early marriage years, Tom tried farming in Flat Fork, Texas, but not being a good farmer he went to work for the Atkinson, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad Company. He was stationed in Simpson, Louisiana also in San Augustine, Honey Island, Bragg, Neuville and was Section foremen in Center, Texas where he retired in 1956. Tom died May 15, age 87, in Silsbee, Texas. Omino spent the remainder of her years in a nursing home in Garrison, Texas. She died, age 86, on April 28, 1980. Both are buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Garrison, Texas.

1. TOMMIE RUTH JACKSON, first child of Thomas and Omino Jackson, was born May 4, 1918. She married, age 15, JAMES J. ADCOCK on September 9. 1933. James was born December 1, 1911. To this union three children were born. James died and and is buried in Nockernut Cemetery, Seguin, Texas. Ruth, age 23, married RAS MCSWAIN, age 34, on March 8, 1941. Ras was born March 10, 1907. Seven children were born. Ras died on December 21, 1968, age 61, and is buried in Rosewood Cemetery, Houston, Texas. Ruth later married LEWIS H. VARNER, born May 18, 1905 and died October 1, 1976. Lewis is buried in Oaklawn Cemetery, Houston, Texas.

a. ALICE JOY ADCOCK, first child of James and Ruth Adcock, was born August 13, 1934 in Honey Island, Texas. Alice was reared by her grandmother, Omino Jackson. She is a 1953 graduate of Center High School, Center, Texas. In high school she was elected cheer leader; she won a contest which allowed her to represent the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce at a pageant and be presented at the Cotton Bowl, Dallas, Texas. Alice married a high school classmate EDWARD CHARLES "KEN" KUEHN. Alice and Ken lived in Houston for a while and moved to California. They later divorced.

1) CHRIS EDWARD KUEHN, first child of Ken and Alice Kuehn, was born October 4, 1955 in Houston, Texas. Chris attended Glendale High School, Glendale, California .

2) KAREN KAYE KUEHN, second child of Ken and Alice Kuehn, was born November 2, 1956. She graduated from Glendale High School, Glendale, California. She married RODNEY LORENZEN. To this union no children were born.

3) STEVEN DAVID KUEHN, third child of Ken and Alice Kuehn, was born February 18, 1958.

4) PATRICIA LYNNE KUEHN, fourth child of Ken and Alice Kuehn, was born December 16, 1960. She married HENRY RIVERA on February 14, 1983. To this union CHRISTINA LYNNE RIVERA was born February 11, 1986.

5) JAMES DANIEL KUEHN, fifth child of Ken and Alice Kuehn, was born August 19, 1963. He married SUSAN MARIE LYONS on March 28, 1987.

b. JEWEL JEANEAER ADCOCK, second child of James and Ruth Adcock, was born October 21, 1936 in Honey Island, Texas. She died December 21, 1936 and is buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Garrison, Texas.

c. IDA RUTH ADCOCK, third child of James and Ruth Adcock, was born July 8, 1938.

d. JOY DELL MCSWAIN, first child of Ras and Ruth McSwain, was born November 5, 1941. She married PATRICK BERRY.

1) MICHAEL WAYNE BERRY, first child of Patrick and Joy Dell Berry, married MICHELLE PIPE. To this union JOSHUA HUNTER BERRY was born January 19, 1995.

2) PRISCELLA JOY BERRY, second child of Patrick and Joy Dell Berry, married HAL ELLIS

e. PHILLIP WAINE MCSWAIN, second child of Ras and Ruth McSwain, was born April 11, 1944. He had three children: JAMES WAYNE, STEPHEN KIRK and TIFFANY MCSWAIN.

f. TOMMY RAY MCSWAIN, third child of Ras and Ruth McSwain, was born June 24, 1945. He married BETTY LEE PARKER.

1) FAY ELAIN MCSWAIN, first child of Tommy Ray and Betty McSwain, was born May 18, 1965. She married RONNIE LYNN FURRER in 1985. To this union JESSICA LYNN FURRER, born April 5, 1987 and RYAN EARL FURRER, born April 27, 1990

4) ANGELA MARIE MCSWAIN, fourth child of Tommy Ray and Betty McSwain,was born May 14, 1975. She married SCOTTY CHARLES ROSCO. He was born August 20,1971. To this union BRANDO LEE ROSCO was born June 26, 1991.

g. JAMES DAVID MCSWAIN, fourth child of Ras and Ruth McSwain, was born July 25, 1946. James has one daughter: ANGELA MCSWAIN.

h. MURELINE MCSWAIN, fifth child of Ras and Ruth McSwain, was born July 14, 1951. She married ROBERT DALE ALLDREDGE. He died December 20, 1975 and is buried at Brookside Cemetery, Houston, Texas.

1) ROBERT DAVID ALLDREDGE, first child of Robert and Mureline Alldredge, was born July 27, 1971. He died September 5, 1989 and is buried at Brookside Cemetery, Houston, Texas.

2) ANDREA REANA ALLDREDGE, second child of Robert and Mureline Alldrege, was born April 2, 1975.

i. SHERRY LYNN MCSWAIN, fifth child of Ras and Ruth McSwain, was born July 14, 1951 and is the twin of SUSIE GWYNN. She married PHILLIP LEROY BOMER. To this union JASON ALAN BOMER, born August 22, 1977, PHILLIP DANIEL BOMER, born February 4, 1979 and AARON MATTHEW BOMER, born September 3, 1981

j. SUSIE GWYNN MCSWAIN, child of Ras and Ruth McSwain, was born July 14, 1951 and is the twin of SHERRY LYNN. She married JOHN DAVID LINKHART. He was born March 10, 1952. Susie has a child SIDNEY RAY SNELLINGS, born May 18, 1974.

2. MELVIN JACKSON, second child of Thomas and Omino Newman Jackson,was born May 27, 1921. He married MARIE MATTHEWS from Neuville, Texas on September 10, 1940. Marie was born October 15, 1927. To this union THOMAS MELVIN and EDWARD NEAL JACKSON were born and were adopted by Marie's second husband. Melvin and Marie were divorced. Melvin married RUTH LEVERNE BLACKMON December 22, 1946. Ruth was born July 19, 1917. To this union three children were born. Melvin served in the Army during World War II and was employed with Coca Cola in Beaumont. Ruth had one child from a previous marriage, CAROL SUE. When Carol Sue was 2 years of age, she was adopted by Melvin. Melvin died December 23, 1991 and is buried in Ebonesor Cementery, Jasper, Texas.

a. CAROL SUE JACKSON, daughter of Melvin and Ruth Jackson, was born Mary 25, 1944. She married ROGER FRANK RUSSELL on October 9, 1959. 

1) ROGER FRANK RUSSELL, JR.,  son of Frank and Carol Russell, was born September 20, 1968.  He married KIMBERLY CRYSTAL TRUDNAK on August 1, 1987.  She was born May 19, 1969.  To this union HOPE MICHELLE RUSSELL, born January 21, 1996, BRIANNE ELIZABETH RUSSELL, born May 24, 1998 and LUCAS FRANK RUSSELL, born April 19,  2000.  

2)  CHRISTOPHER LYNN RUSSELL, son of Frank and Carol Russell, was born April 11, 1972.  He married first MELISSA VERRETT.  To this union no children were born.  He later married DEANNA NOLDER. To this union CHRISTIAN CADE RUSSELL was born December 12, 1994.

b. DOROTHY LEA JACKSON, daughter of Melvin and Ruth Jackson, was born August 2, 1952. She married ELMER ANSLEY. To this union BRIDGET MARIE ANSLEY was born May 23, 1976.

c. MELVIN MARCUS JACKSON, son of Melvin and Ruth Jackson, was born January 20, 1956. He married DEBRA GALLIER and ANGELA CHRISTINE JACKSON was born July 22, 1975. They were divorced. He later married DEE ANN KELLEY and to this union ANDY MARK JACKSON was born September 16, 1980.

1. ANGELA CHRISTINE JACKSON, child of Marc and Debra Gallier Jackson, was born July 1975.  She married first time JEFF JONES. To this union KRISTYN BROOK JONES was born.  She married second time DALE DILLION.  to this  union KATLYN DILLON and MCKENNA DILLION were born.

2.  ANDY MARK JACKSON, child of Mark and Dee Ann Kelley Jackson, was born September 16, 1980.  He marrired STEPHANIE HOUSE.  To this union MARCUS NEAL JACKSON was born September 4, 2000.

d. MARY JANE JACKSON, third child of Melvin and Ruth Jackson, was born December 29, 1957. She married JOHNNY CLUBLE. No children were born. They were divorced and she late married DAVID LEE BROWN. To this union RUTH LADENN BROWN, born December 6, 1978, DENA MARIE BROWN, born June 27, 1980 and DAVID GRANT BROWN, born December 29, 1984.

3. RAY JACKSON, third child of Thomas and Omino Jackson, was born March 24, 1930 in Bragg, Texas. He is a 1947 graduate of Center High School, Center, Texas. After high school he entered St. Mary's Seminary, LaPorte, Texas to study for the Priesthood of the Roman Catholic Church, Galveston/Houston Dioceses. He left St. Mary's after two years and entered the Alexian Brothers Monastery, Signal Mountain, Tennessee. Reflecting upon life, he returned to Houston where he became a member of U.S. Navy. Here he was assigned to Chaplain's Assistant. Never reaching a rank worth mentioning and after tour of duty he returned to Houston. He was Employed with Houston Lighting and Power Company until his official retirement in 1987.
