LAFLATIE NEWMAN, first daughter of John Franklin and Nancy Emma Newman, was born April 18, 1885 at the Family Homestead at Walnut Grove Community. Laflatie spent most of her life in the Garrison area where she married JOHN P. BAILEY. John was born in 1881 and died in 1926 at the age of 70. Laflatie died on April 15, 1967 at the age of 82. Both are buried in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Garrison, Texas.

1. J. H. BAILEY, first child of John and Laflatie Bailey, was born in 1906. J.H. married MENNIE LEE CROWDER who was born on March 17. 1917. To this union SUE CROWDER BAILEY was born. J.H. died in1976.
2. ARLINGTON BAILEY, second child of John and Laflatie Bailey, died at age of 68 and is buried in Brookside Memorial Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
3. BRADY LEE BAILEY, third child of John and Laflatie Bailey, was born September 30, 1910. He married OPAL BIDDIE. Opal died July 21, 1979. Brady died March 21, 1972 at the age of 69. He is buried at Burkburnett Cemetery.
4. BERTHA BAILEY, fourth child of John and Laflatie Bailey, was born June 5, 1913. Bertha married MELVIN LEE BEAMON. Melvin was born August 4, 1918. To this union JENNY ANN BEAMON was born October 4, 1958. Bertha died, age 64. October 11, 1978 in Houston, Harris County, Texas. Melvin Beamon died March 31, 1984 and is buried in Long Prairie Cemetery, Navarro County, Texas.
JENNY ANN BEAMON, daughter of Melvin and Bertha Beamon, was born October 4, 1958 in Corsicana, Narvarro County, Texas. Jenny married JAMES MOREHEAD on May 29, 1976. Jenny later married JOHN DAVID HOLTON on April 12, 1983. John David was born October 26, 1952. Jenny received an Associate Degree from Navarro College, Corsicana, Texas and graduated with honors. She is a member of Phi Thea Kappa Honor Society and the President of Legal Assistants Association. She is a 1996 Cum Laude graduate from Texas Woman's University, Denton, Texas, with a batchelor's degree in Government.

5. NOBLE BAILEY, fifth child of John and Laflatie Bailey, was born in 1915. He died, age 58, and is buried in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Garrison, Texas.
6. JUANITA BAILEY, sixth child of John and Laflatie Bailey, was born March 24, 1917. Juanita married CLARENCE CHESTER GRAHAM on October 19, 1946. To this union BOBBY RAY GRAHAM was born born. Clarence died August 5, 1953 and is buried at Jasper, Texas. Juanita died March 23, 1983.
7. JOHNNIE BAILEY, seventh child of John and Laflatie Bailey, was born January 12, 1926. She married ED CAPPS on May 20, 1943. To this union JOHNNIE LEE CAPPS was born October 1, 1946. Ed died April 30, 1987 in Splendora, Texas.
