JOSIE NEWMAN

JOSIE NEWMAN, fourth child of John Franklin and Nancy Emma Newman, was born January 6, 1882. Josie married H. N. "NEWT" LUNSFORD. Newt was born January 31, 1882. To this union two children were born. Newt died October 29, 1919 and is buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Garrison, Texas. Josie, age 32, married JOHN MILTON "JACK" BOATMAN, age 47. Jack was born February 17, 1877. Jack was previously married to IDA BOATMAN and to this union was born ELBERT BOATMAN and ERNEST BOATMAN. After the death of Ida Boatman, Jack married IDA GILBEAT. Ida was previously married and came to this union with MYRTIE GILBEAT. To the union of Jack and Ida Gilbeat were born LEOLA, CLARENCE, ISAM, HARDY, ROSS LAURA, CLYDE, and BERBINE BOATMAN. Jack, age 67, died May 10, 1944 and is buried in Dew, Texas. Josie, age 71, died July 17, 1963 in Houston, Texas and is buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Garrison, Texas.

1. LORENE LUNSFORD, first child of Newt and Josie Lunsford, was born November 24.1914 in Garrison, Texas. Lorene, age 19, married WILLIAM MONROE STANDLEE on April 14.1934. To this union no children were born. William retired from Cameron Iron Works after 40 years of service. Lorene, age 59, died December 25, 1973 and is buried at Forest Park Cemetery, Houston, Texas.

2. LILA LERLINE LUNSFORD, second child of Newt and Josie Lunsford, was born February 13, 1917. Lerline, age 23, married HORACE WENDELL TANNERY, age 32, April 27, 1940. Horace was born July 19, 1908 in Gilmer, Texas and died at age 73, September 6, 1981. He is buried at Forest Park Cemetery, Houston, Texas. Wendell retired from Pam Am Steel Company after 26 years of service. Lerline died January 2, 1994 and is buried at Forest Park Cemetery, Houston, Texas.

a .CONNIE ELANE TANNERY, first child of Horace and Lerline Tannery, was born January 27, 1943. Elane, age 17, married CHARLES EARL DEASON on November 25, 1960. To this union two children were born. Elane and Charles were divorced and Elane married JOHN ALLEN MURRAY on August 5, 1964. Johnny then adopted Elane's children from the previous marriage. Johnny was born February 17, 1940. They own and operate A Able Bonding Company and John A. Murray Insurance Agency in Houston, Texas.

1) SHERREL ANN MURRAY, first child of John and Elane Murray, was born May 26, 1963. She has two children; CHARLIE WENDELL MURRAY, born July 18, 1982 and ASHLEY ROSE MURRAY.

3) DONNA LEE MURRY, third child of John and Elane Murray, was born April 7, 1970. She has one child TIMOTHY ALLEN MURRAY, born May 14, 1991.

4) MARY MAE MURRAY, fourth child of John and Elane Murray, was born April 12, 1974. She married DAVID RAY GIRARD on April 2, 1994. She has two children HALEY ELANE MURRAY, born September 2, 1993 and CHRISTOPHER GIRARD.

b. PHYLLIS WENDELINE TANNERY, second child of Wendell and Lerline Tannery, was born August 10, 1944. Wendeline, age 19, married FREDERICK BRIAN IRVIN, age 20, on September 27, 1963. Fred was born November 7, 1942. Fred served in the Houston Fire Department for 23 years.

1) FREDERICK BRIAN IRVIN, JR., first child of Fred and Wendeline Irvin, was born September 23, 1964. He married MARY ELIZABETH LALONDE on June 10, 1989. Mary Beth was born October 26, 1964. To this union KAYLA DIANE and MARISSA TAYLOR IRVIN were born September 12, 1991 and February 21, 1995.

2) CYNTHIA ANN IRVIN, second child of Fred and Wendeline Irvin, was born June 3, 1966. She married CHARLES EDWARD BURDITT on January 27, 1990. He was born September 27, 1948 in Boling Green, Ohio. To this union CORY ALAN and ASHLEY NICOLE BURDITT were born October 1, 1990 and March 21, 1995.

c) LINDA DIANE TANNERY, third child of Wendell and Lerline Tannery, was born August 1, 1947. Linda, age 19, married JAMES DALE HUDLER, age 22, on May 28, 1966. To this union JAMES, JEFFREY WENDELL and MATTHEW DARRELL HUDLER were born June 2, 1967, July 28, 1970 and December 18, 1976. James is Manager of Kelp Produce and Distribution Company. Linda is employed part-time for Kelp Produce and Distribution and for Stateville Road Baptist Church.

3. EMMA LUCILLE BOATMAN, first child of Jack and Josie Boatman, was born August 12, 1925. Lucille, age 22, married MARVIN B. ABBOTT, age 37, September 13, 1947. Marvin was born October 13, 1909. Marvin retired from Crown Oil Company after 47 years of service. He also retired from the Pasadena Volunteer Fire Department after 35 years of Service. Marvin died on April 13, 1993 and is buried at Memorial South Park Cemetery, Pearland, Texas.

a. JUDITH CAROL ABBOTT, first child of Marvin and Lucille Abbott, was born June 25, 1948. Judy married GORDON LOWE and later were divorced. Gordon had one son from a previous marriage, RANDY LOWE. To this union was born JOHN GLENN LOWE, June 22, 1965 and GREGORY COOPER LOWE, September 11, 1966.

b. JOAN ELISE ABBOTT, second child of Marvin and Lucille Abbott, was born January 20, 1950. She married BARRY BARA on June 27, 1970. Barry was born March 24, 1947. To this union were born BROOKE D'LISE BARA, August 4, 1975 and BRANDI D'LYNN BARA, October 14, 1973.

c. RAY ALLEN ABBOTT, third child of Marvin and Lucille Abbott, was born July 14, 1953. Ray married JOAN MARIE ROESLER on December 13, 1980. To this union was born KRISTIN MARIE ABBOTT, February 9, 1983, AUSTIN BROWN ABBOTT, April 16. 1986 and CHRISTOPHER JAMES ABBOTT, November 4, 1988. Ray is employed by Cisco Systems, Inc.

d. JOHN ERNEST ABBOTT, fourth child of Marvin and Lucille Abbott, was born November 16, 1955. John attended Midwest University, then served 5-1/2 years in Air Force. He is employed with the U.S. Postal Service. He married ANITA ROSE FRANTZ. She was born February 27, 1960. Anita has one son, DANIEL FRANTZ, born January 31, 1979 and one daughter, ERIN FRANTZ, born April 28, 1982. To this union was born ALYSSA ROSE ABBOTT on February 23, 1992.

4. FRED BOATMAN, second child of Jack and Josie Newman Boatman, was born January 27, 1927. Fred, age 17, married LORENE STRICKLAND, age 19, August 28, 1944. Lorene was born December 1, 1923. Fred served in the Army during World War II. He worked for many years with Hughes Tool Company and in the 60's he established Boatman Specialties. After closing the company he and Lorene drove hot shot deliveries for Ranger Truck Lines. Lorene died May 7, 1988. Fred died in 1996. Both are buried at Forest Park Cemetery, Houston, Texas.

a. BARBARA ANN BOATMAN, first child of Fred and Lorene Boatman, was born October 15, 1947. She married DONALD RAY RAWLS August 12, 1973. To this union no children were born. Don was born December 7, 1937. He died of Lung Cancer on December 16, 1991 and is buried at Forest Park Cemetery, Houston, Texas.

b. JOHN MILTON BOATMAN, second child of Fred and Lorene Boatman, was born April 26, 1958. He married DESI BURKETT on November 3, 1979. They were divorced in 1982. He is employed by CompUWare in Sales.

c. BETTY JEAN BOATMAN, third child of Fred and Lorene Boatman, was born January 22, 1959. Betty married LANE LEMONS on July 16, 1984. Lane was born January 24, 1959. Betty works for W. R. Grace as a Sales Coordinator. Lane is employed with Burns International. To this union was born DANA MICHELLE LEMONS on November 25, 1987.

d. FRED BOATMAN, JR.., fourth child of Fred and Lorene Boatman, was born September 28, 1961. Fred married SHEILA GOVRO on July 10, 1982. Sheila was born January 3, 1962. Fred works for Tubular Steel in Sales, Sheila is employed with Myron Stephens as an Underwriting Assistant.

5. O. D. BOATMAN, third child of Jack and Josie Boatman, was born December 28,1928. O. D. married MARY FRANCIS ARMSTRONG in 1946. She was born April 30, 1928. To this union one child was born. They were divorced. He later married SHIRLEY COPELAND in 1953. Shirley was born June 3, 1936. To this union five child were born. They were divorced. O. D. married third time CHARLENE KAYE FANNING. She was born September 5, 1944. To this union no children were born. O. D. is employed with a Chemical Tank Truck Company. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force from 1947 thru 1947. After retiring from the service he was employed with Hughes Tool Company, Houston, Texas and later worked for L. D. Brinkman Company where he earned Salesman of the year. O. D. decided to get into the trucking business and purchased trucks in 1978 and hauled oil field equipment until the crash of the oil boom in 1981. He then sold all but one truck and hauled agriculture products until 1986, after which time he became employed by McKenzie Tank Lines. O. D. drove a truck hauling chemicals until 1993 when he was promoted to Training Manager for Houston Terminal. He now employed as Training Manager and Safety Supervisor for McKenzie Tank Lines in Houston, Texas.

a. WILSENE BOATMAN, child of O. D. and Mary Boatman, was born October 31, 1946. She married JOHN THOMAS BRISBIN on June 12, 1965. John was born October 14, 1945. To this union was born MICHAEL CRAIG BRISBIN, March 15, 1968 and LANE RAY BRISBIN, December 16, 1970.

b. MICHAEL WAYNE BOATMAN, child of O. D. and Shirley Boatman, was born March 8, 1955. Michael married KATHY YATES. To this union was born MICHAEL LEE BOATMAN, January 21, 1983 and JESSICA BOATMAN, April 11, 1986.

c. LARRY RAY BOATMAN, child of O. D. and Shirley Boatman, was born August 1, 1956. Larry is the father of BARBARA ANN BOATMAN, January 17, 1986 and CHARLOTTE BOATMAN, June 25, 1992.

d. GARY STEPHEN BOATMAN, child of O.D. and Shirley Boatman, was born November 25, 1957 in Anchorage, Alaska.

e. LORI ANN BOATMAN, child of O. D. and Shirley Boatman, was born July 23, 1962.

f. RHONDA LYNN BOATMAN, child of O.D. and Shirley Boatman, was born April 11, 1967. She married CRAIG NEWELL YOUNG on November 24, 1987. Craig was born January 31, 1964. To this union were born NATHEN CRAIG O. D. YOUNG, May 18, 1988 and SHELDEN LYNN YOUNG, October 8, 1990.

6. HEADLEE RAY BOATMAN, fourth child of Jack and Josie Boatman, was born March 10, 1931. He married JOYCE BOLIVER on February 4, 1950. Joyce was born August 26, 1934. To this union three children were born. They were divorced and he later married LINDA LOUISE LENZ on December 22, 1983. Linda was born July 9, 1942. Linda has one son form a previous marriage.

a. DANNY RAY BOATMAN, first child of Headlee and Joyce Boatman, was born April 15, 1951. He married GINGER WILDERSON December 26, 1970. To this union KENNETH RAY BOATMAN was born August 30,. 1975. The were divorced and he married BARBIE NEWTON, which ended in divorced. He later married CHRIS ALLOWAY on December 22, 1989. Chris was born May 3, 1958.

b. SHIRLEY GALE BOATMAN, second child of Headlee and Joyce Boatman, was born March 21, 1952. She married JAMES KING December 26, 1970. Jim was born November 3, 1940. They have divorced.

c. SANDRA JEAN BOATMAN, third child Headlee and Joyce Boatman, was born November 11, 1963. She married WILLIAM E. HOOD on October 22, 1983. To this union RYAN ALLDEN HOOD was born.

7. JOSIE LEE BOATMAN, fifth child of Jack and Josie Boatman, was born December 31, 1935. Jose has held many jobs in her career, along with being a Control Tower Operator with the U.S. Navy.

a.  LEIGH ANN BOATMAN, child of Josie Lee Boatman and Richard Michael O'Hearn, was born March 3, 1957 in Harris County, Texas.  She married RONALD BURNETT in November 1975.  To this union NEIL WYATT BURNETT, born July 15, 1978 and CRYSTAL DAWN BURNETT, born January 13, 1983.  Leigh Ann and Ronald were divorced and she married second time TERRY E. VIERTEL on July 30, 1988 in Vancouver, Washington.  Terry was born on February 18, 1946 in Vancouver, Washington and has TERRY LEE VIERTEL, born February 3, 1971.  He is engaged in  construction and is an ironworker/general forman and a 30 year member of Ironworkers Local 29 in Portland, Oregon.  He has spent many uyears working as a volunteer with the Ironworker Credit Union and currently serves as the president of the board of directors.  Leigh Ann and Terry are both working as volunteers on political campaigns.  Neil Wyatt Burnett and Crystal Dawn Burnett were adopted by Terry E. Viertel and their names were changed to Neil Wyatt Viertel and Crystal Dawn Viertel.  Leigh Ann is currently studying for degrees in both business administration and medical records.  They reside in Vancouver, Washington.

Josie Lee Boatman married JAMES FARROW. She reside in El Paso, Texas and is now retired. Charles Farrow died on October 16, 1995 and is buried in Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Houston, Texas

a. JERI LYNN FARROW, first child of Charles and Josie Farrow, was born Septmeber 30, 1961.  Jery Lynn is employed as a Corporate Bookkeeper for El Paso Electric.  She now attends UTEP with studes in Computer Science and Accounting.   She has one child, BRIAN FARROW born June 11, 1984.

b.  CHARLES RAY FARROW, second child of Charles and Josie Farrow, was born November 23, 1962.  Charles is a Staff Sargent in U.S. Air Force and is stationed in San Antonio.   He married GLORIA LAYDA  in 1988.  Glora has a daughter from a previous marriage, KIMBERLY DIXON, born February 2, 1986.  To this union was born BRITANY FARROW on January 2, 1990 and CHARLES RAY FARROW, JR. born February 20, 1993.

c. KEITH FARROW, fourth child of Charles and Josie Farrow, was born September 22, 1964.  Keith was a member of the U.S. Navy and served in the Persian Gulf conflict and was discharged in December, 1984.

d. SHARON KAY FARROW, fifth child of Charles and Josie Farrow, was born May 24, 1967.  She holds rand of DP2 with the U.S. Navy and is stationed in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

e. LINDA GAIL FARROW, sixth child of Charles and Josie Farrow, was born September 21, 1969.  She married DAVE STEPHENS on October 23, 1993.  Both Linda dn Dave are in the U.S. Navy and are stationed in San Diego, California.
