I.  LAFAYETTE JACKSON, ninth child of Allen W. and Mahala Jackson, was born Marcy 24, 1860 in Louisiana.  He married HATTIE FRANKS.  Hattie was born December 17, 1870 and she died on November 5, 1947.  Lafayette Jackson always prided himself as being a patriotic man.  During the War, when troop trains would go through on the Kansas City South, with soldiers handing out  the windlows, he would wave little flags and cheer.  Although he was too old to serve physically, he wa with them spiritually.  He was a deeply religious man, full of honor and intergrity, and was a member of the Christian Church.  He was in the logging business prior to his death. Lafayette died on June 9, 1917.  Both are buried in Newlin Cemetery, located one mile north of Singer, Louisiana.

1.  MAHALA JACKSON, first child of Lafayette and Hattie Jackson, was born August 29, 1887.  She married RUFUS DOZIER.  Mahala Dozier died on Februaru 2, 1958 and her burial place is unknown.

a.  A. J. DOZIER,  first child of Rufus and Mahala Dozier, married SYLVIA MAE HENNIGAN.  To this union GILBERT L. DOZIER and KENNETH RUFUS BOZIER  were born.    Sylvia was the daughter of GILBERT HENNIGAN ( School Board member for 18 years and president of the School Board for Beauregard, and a memeber of the State Senate for five parishes in Southwest Louisiana for 12 years).  A. J. Bozier began teaching in 1930 at Northwestern.  The family moved to Fields, Louisiana, where he taught for   25-30 years at Hyatt Schools.  He was later a principal at Merryville. Sylvia was a teacher in DeRidder, Louisiana.

b.  MAMIE DOZIER, second child of Rufus and Mahala Dozier, married  JOEL COOLEY.

c.  RUTHIE DOZIER, third child of Rufus and Mahala Dozier, married WALTER BATES.

d.  YOURIE L. DOZIER, fourth child of Rufus and Mahala Dozier.  No data Available.

e.  O. K. DOZIER, fifth child of Rujfus and Mahala Dozier.  No data Available.


ALLEN JACKSON

2.  ALLEN JACKSON, second child of Lafayette and Hattie Jackson, was born June 23, 1890.  He married VELLA DANIELS of Longville, Louisiana.  To this union EVA JACKSON, GUSIE JACKSON and R.C. JACKSON were born.  Allen died on October 22, 1945.


MARY ALICE JACKSON

3.  MARY ALICE JACKSON, third child of Lafayette and Hattie Jackson, was born November 6, 1894.  She married ELIAS WHIDDON.  To this union FREDDIE WHIDDON, KAY WHIDDON and MILDRED WHIDDON were born.


4.  JESSE LENA JACKSON, fourth child of Lafayette and Hattie Jackson, was born October 2, 1901.  She married IRA COOLEY. To this union LEO WILMA COOLEY, JUANITA IRENE COOLEY, ODA LEE COOLEY, PAUL COOLEY, BOBBY GRACE COOLEY and BARBARA ANN COOLEY were born.
