     Alexander Carswell V was born on 22 December 1793 at Upper Burke County, Georgia.1 He was the son of Matthew Carswell and Sarah Martin.2 Alexander Carswell V married Patsy Ball circa 1818 at Wilkinson County, Georgia. They were the parents of seven children.1 Alexander Carswell V died in March 1831 at Twiggs County, Georgia, at age 37 The cause of his death was Heart failure.1
     Alexander came with his parents to Wilkinson County in 1809 with his parents. After his marriage he made his home in the Turkey Creek District, near his father and mother, but across the county line in Twiggs County. He was a Justice of the Peace there in 1822.1

     James never married. In 1826 he is listed as a landholder and resident, along with his brother Alexander, in Georgia Militia No. 354, Twiggs County. In 1827 he acquired lot 18, 4th. district, Coweta County, from Cornelius Benjamin of Wilkinson County, who won the land in the 1827 Georgia land lottery; and the 1830 census shows him living in Harris County.1,2
