     OBITUARY: G. W. ROBERTS KILLED BY AUTO: Aged North Augustan fatally hurt Thursday when struck by car on Highway. Struck by an automobile as he crossed the highway, Mr. Greene Washington Roberts, aged resident of the Summerhill section, just outside the North Augusta city limits, was instantly killed about six o'clock Thursday afternoon. The accident occurred at what is known as Whitlaw's Crossing, between North Augusta and Belvedere. Mr. Roberts, it is understood, was walking down the highway near his home, and started across the pavement when he was struck by the car which was driven by J. L. Hicks of Johnston, S. C. His injuries included a gashed head and broken left leg. An inquest is scheduled to be held at North Augusta at 4:30 Friday afternoon by coroner Tom Tarver, of Aiken County. Funeral arrangements are to be announced Saturday. Mr Roberts was 74 years of age. He was a native of Lincoln County, Ga., but had been living near North Augusta most of his life. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cora rowland Roberts; one daughter, Mrs. D. C. Rhodes of the Summerhill Section; four sons, M. R. and J. R. roberts of Summerhil; E. A. Roberts, of San Pedro, Cal., and C. C. Roberts, of Birmingham, Ala; five brothers, Dick, Newton, Alex, Pate and Bill roberts all of Amity, Ga; and six grandchildren.¹
