Reddish and Susan Ansley.1,4,5 Martha Loucretia Reddish married James Hiram Martin Sr., son of James Patrick Martin and Martha Nutt, on 2 November 1837 at Randolph County, Georgia.5,6,7,8,3 Martha Loucretia Reddish died on 2 March 1888 at Robeline, Natchitoches Par, Louisiana, at age 69 FROM THE MINUTES OF THE CENTRAL BAPTIST CHURCH, NEAR ROBELINE, NATCHITOCHES PARISH, LOUISIANA:
Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana 1888
Tribute of Respect:
Whereas it has pleased our Almighty God to remove our beloved sister, Loucretia Martin, from our midst who departed this life the 2nd day of March 1888. She was born in Warren County, Georgia May 12th 1818. She was the daughter of Samuel B. and Susan Reddish and was married to James H. Martin the 2nd of November 1837, moved to Randolph County, Georgia and lived there until 1854. Then they moved to Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana and lived here until the day of her death. They lived together 51 years and 4 months. They had 8 children, 7 daughters and 1 son, they all survive her. She was baptised into fellowship of Liberty Baptist Church. She was in the constitution of Central Baptist Church of which she lived and died a consistent member and old Mother in Israel has gone but we mourn not as those who have no faith whereas we bow in meek submission to our Heavenly Father. Therefore be it resolved:
That by the death of Sister Martin the church has lost one of it's worthest members and an exemplary Christian. The community a kind and good neighbor. Resolved further that we tender the bereaved husband and children our heartfelt sympathy and hope they will be prepared to meet her beyond the river where parting will be no more.
Resolved further that a copy of this resolutions be put in our church book and a copy presented to the bereaved family.

The date of her death is verified by the inscription found on the tombstone at her grave which I have seen. There is no mention there as to the place of her death.1,3 She was buried after 2 March 1888 at Central Baptist Church Cemetery, near Robeline, Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana.9,1
James Hiram Martin was 30 years old when he married Lucretia Reddish. Lucretia was a dark-haired girl of 19. She had olive skin, and a calm and patient disposition. They moved to Randolph County, Georgia soon after their marriage, along with the three sons from his first marriage. In Randolph County, which was a larger county then, they lived near the Chattahoochee River, the boundary between Georgia and Alabama.10

When the goods from the estate of Samuel B. Reddish were sold at public sale in Warren County, Georgia on 2 November 1836, those who bought items were: Elias Reddish, Thomas Ansley, S. F. Williams, Stephen Granada, Rhoda Reddish, A. W. McDonald and Loucretia Reddish who purchased one bed and bedstead for $13.00.1
At Samuel's death about 1836, Morris Ansley, the brother of Mary Polly, was made the guardian of the minor children: John H., Susannah K., Mary Ann H., and Chloe. Elias, Eliza were evidently not minors by that time and Loucretia was nineteen years old and probably alread engaged to marry James Hiram Martin. Narcissa, who was about eighteen, left Georgia with Loucretia and came to Natchitoches Parish, LA.1
