     Washington Hargis was born in 1840 at Pulaski County, Kentucky.¹ He was the son of Washington Hargis and Emilia/Emillie Stogsdill.²

     Washington Blackard Hargis was born on 25 April 1821 at North Carolina?.¹ He was the son of John Hargis and Sarah Douglas.¹ Washington Blackard Hargis married Elizabeth Jane Bradberry on 16 May 1844 at Tennessee.¹ Washington Blackard Hargis died on 18 November 1905 at Bradley County, Arkansas, at age 84.¹

     Washington Green Hargis was born on 8 September 1807 at Person County, North Carolina.^3,2 He was the son of William Hargis (3) and Elizabeth Jay.^1,2 Washington Green Hargis married Margaret Johnson, daughter of Samuel Johnson Johnson, circa 1825.^3,2 Washington Green Hargis died between 1853 and 1860 at Ripley County, Missouri.³
     Washington Green Hargis and Margaret Johnson Hargis moved to Ripley County, Missouri and were living there in 1850 accourding to the Federal Census for that year. In the 1860 census Margaret was listed as head of the household, therefre, it is assumed that Washington Green had died between 1850 and 1860. It is also interesting to note that they spelled the family name Hargus. It was also spelled in that way at times in the White County, Tennessee records.²

     Watt Bennett Hargis was born on 5 November 1888 at Ingalls, Arkansas.¹ He was the son of James Thornberry Hargis and Joanna Owens.¹ Watt Bennett Hargis married Minnie Elizabeth Colvin on 5 February 1918 at Ingalls, Arkansas.¹ Watt Bennett Hargis died on 2 July 1967 at age 78.¹

     Wayman A Hargis was born on 18 June 1876.¹ He was the son of Andrew Jackson Hargis and Mary Horn.¹ Wayman A Hargis died on 29 May 1931 at age 54.¹

     Wayne Hargis was born circa 1889.^1,2 He was the son of William A. Hargis and Alice Burton.^1,2 Wayne Hargis married Marjory Eubanks.^1,2
