Hi Bob Thanks for the quick reply. My great grandmother Saby Hargis Sears was a sister to Dic ey Bray. My Granddad was forever telling stories about Aunt Dice as he called her. One I quic kyly recall was that she as well as my great grandmother Sabe both smoked old fashioned ston e pipes.My great grandfather hated tobacco. Just the same they would sit in one end of the hu ge fireplace at the old Sears homestead and blow their smoke up the chimney. I have a pictur e somewhere of Uncle Mit Hargis, their brother.
One thing I can share with you is that a knack for music, especially singing runs down thr ough the Hargises and their descendants. Frank Bray, Aunt Dice's son was one of the best bas s singers I ever heard. He sung professionally in Cincinnati for several years. My grandad Se ars taught shaped note singing schools for 50 years. Music is one of my great joys as well.
It also appears that Elizabeth Whitaker Hargis mother was a Woodall. If I can offer furthe r help just let me know. Bob
