Henry was born in 1719 in Fauquier Co., Virginia, British Colony.1 He was the son of Henry Floyd , Sr. and Mary Ann Bruce. Henry was married to Nancy Ann Helm, daughter of Maj. Thomas Helm and Margaret Lynbaugh, 1760 in Virginia, British Colony.1 Henry died on Tuesday, January 23, 1816 in Union Co., Kentucky, USA, at age 97 years.1 Henry had his will probated February, 1818 in Union Co., Kentucky, USA.
He and his wife, Nancy Ann Helm, came down the Ohio River on a flat boat. When the got to Uniontown, Kentucky his wife died of pneumonia. He settled in he "Old Floyd Settlement", near Waverly, Kentucky in 1789. He was a sargeant in the Virginia Militia during the American Revolutionary War. He was a Lieutenant in the Revolutionay War in the Illinois Regiment in the Army of General George Rogers Clark. For which he received about 2156 acres of land in the Illinois Grant in Clark County, Indiana. between April, 1775 and December, 1783 in Prince William Co., Virginia, USA.2
