     Mary was born in 1836.1 She was the daughter of John G. Talbott and Rhoda Floyd. Mary was married to Dr. George Lewis Compton Tuesday, July 28, 1857 in Henderson, Henderson Co., Kentucky, USA.2 Mary died in 1876 at age 40 years.1 Her body was interred after 1876 in Book Cemetery No. 2 (Toy Anthoston), Henderson Co., Kentucky, USA.1
     As of Tuesday, July 28, 1857, her married name was Compton. Mary were listed as a household members living with Dr. George Lewis Compton in the 1860 Census, on June 1, 1860 in Household No. 13, Cairo, Henderson Co., Kentucky, USA.3 Mary was listed as a household member living with Dr. George Lewis Compton on the 1870 Census, on June 1, 1870 in Household No. 85, Cairo, Henderson Co., Kentucky, USA.4 As a result of her death, George Lewis became a widower, in 1876.

     Matthew was born on Saturday, September 26, 1699 in Tisbury, Wiltshire, England. He was the son of Thomas Talbott and Lady Anne Tate. Matthew, age 21, was married to Mary Williston, daughter of James Williston , Esq. and Ann Belgrave, Tuesday, May 6, 1721 in Maryland, British Colony. Matthew, age 37, was married to Jane Clayton Thursday, May 23, 1737 in Bedford Co., Virginia, British Colony. Matthew died in 1758 in Bedford Co., Virginia, British Colony, at age 58 years. Matthew had his will probated Monday, November 27, 1758 in Bedford Co., Virginia, British Colony.
     He was commissioned a Colonel of the Virginia Militia during the Indian War of 1754. In 1757 he was appointed Sheriff of Bedford County, Virginia.
