     Thomas was born in 1758. He was the son of Thomas McClanahan , Sr, and Margaret Strother. Thomas was married to Elizabeth Field before 1787. Thomas died in 1834 in Breckenridge Co., Kentucky, USA, at age 76 years.

     Thomas was born in 1732 in Cople Parish, Westmoreland Co., Virginia, British Colony. He was the son of William McClanahan and Martha Smith. Thomas was married to Margaret Strother circa 1750 in King George Co., Virginia, British Colony. Thomas died in February, 1809 in Paris, Bourbon Co., Kentucky, USA, at age 77 years. His body was interred after February, 1809 in Elizabeth Station Church Yard, Bourbon Co., Kentucky, USA.
     Thomas McClanahan , Sr, also went by the name of Old Captain Tom.
