Welcome to my website. I am relatively new to genealogy research, but have very much enjoyed the experience. Fortunately, when I began I was able to leverage off the work of other members of my family who had either done extensive research or just written some names and dates down. Either way, I am in their debt because it has given me a lot of opportunites to research.
When I first started, I looked for any websites regarding my family (or at least the part I knew) and was unable to find anything. I decided that I should "get the ball rolling" and do one myself. It has thus far been an enlightening experience (my first website) especially since I have prettymuch done everyhting in a simple text editor (better to learn how to do things that way)
I created this website for several reasons:
- Spread the story of my ancestors to other family members and get them interested in genealogy
- Perhaps find new relatives looking into their family tree
- Develop biographies for family ancestors rather than just facts
- Detail my research notes and findings so that others can continue without duplicating work
- Provide ideas/suggestions/formats for other amateur genealogists
