[e-mail from G. Johnson 3-24-2002:  "I can make a pretty good case that his second wife, Anna Harris, was born Anna Hill, a sister of Ruth Hill who married Moses Rardin, a son of Henry Rardin and grandson of Dennis Rardin, brother of John Rardin, Sr.  Their parents were James Hill and Ruth McKenney who came to Washington County, Ohio from Frederick County, Maryland about 1804.  Anna first married David Harris in Washington county, Ohio as the records show.  She then married Thomas Rardin in Meigs County, Ohio.  I have an exact date from the LDS, but the marriage doesn't show up in the Meigs County, Ohio marriage records.  Anna Hill Harris Rardin is show in the 1850 Meigs Census without her husband with three minor children (Thomas, Alonzo and Eliza as well as Josephine and Edwin), which makes me think that Thomas Rardin died a bit earlier than indicated above.  Next door are two Harris children from her previous marriage".
