The Tudor's - Liverpool
Edward and Margaret Tudor lived in Dumfries, Wolverhampton (~1820) and then settled in Liverpool. In Liverpool, they lived on Maguire Street (1827) Tessera Place on Atkinson Street (1831-1832), Bostock Street (1833) and Wood Street (1835-1837). They had 7 children: Edward (~1814-1815), Henry (c.3.6.1816), William (c. 18.10.1820), John (28.1.1827), James (4.12.1831), Thomas (6.10.1833) and Martha Jane (29.1.1837). Edward was registered in the Gore's directory as a Book Keeper.
Their eldest son, Edward, married Jane Tinsley and they had 9 children: Adam (c. 13/1/1834), Mary? (b.~1835), Henry (b. ~1838), John (c.15th September 1839), Mary Jane (b. 7th September 1843 at Dryden Street), William (b.~1845), Robert (b.~1847), Virginia (b.~1850) and Edward (b. ~1858).
At the time of the 1851 census, Edward (36) and Jane (36) Tudor were living at 61 Bostock Street (Liverpool). They continued to live on Bostock Street (No. 39 in 1861 and No. 20 in 1871) for at least 30 years and were joined by Edward's brothers (Thomas, John and William) and their families. Edward, his brothers and most of their sons all worked as Shoemakers. However, in 1871 Edward stated his occupation as 'Car Driver' and in 1881 he was working as a Cordwainer. Following the death of his wife Jane, Edward had moved from Bostock Street to Townsend Lane (West Derby) and was living with his son and daughter in law, Robert and Ann, at the time of the 1881 census.
