The Carr's
James Carr (of Athol Street, Liverpool) married (Mary) Jane Tudor on 24th October 1863 at the Parish Church (Parish of Liverpool). They were both Minors (younger than 21). James worked as a Labourer/Dock Labourer and Stonemason. James and Mary Jane had two children, John James (b. 19/11/1865, 19 Court Bostock Street) and Ellen Jane (b. ~1867), during their short marriage. It is know that James died prior to November 1868, as Mary Jane re-married, but the date and circumstances of his death are not known.
Mary Jane married John Mackenzie (a Labourer) on the 9th November 1868 at the Parish Church of Bevington St Albans (Liverpool). They had five children (Robert, Ann, Debora, Maggie and Jane) and lived at 25 Buckingham Street (Everton) along with Mary Jane's children from her first marriage. In 1887, the family may have moved to Byrom Street, as that was John James Carr's address at the time of his marriage. He married Eleanor Hart on 2nd January 1887 at the Parish Church (Parish of Liverpool).
John James and Eleanor had 6 children: William (b.~1888), John (b.~1890), Joseph (b.~1892), Robert (b.~1894), Eleanor Jane (b. 26/4/1895, 82 Howe Street, West Derby) and Edward (b. ~1898). John James worked as a Plasterer, Builders Labourer and Slater (Journeyman). It was whilst he was working as a Slater that he sustained head injuries during an accidental fall from a roof. He died at home (Howe Street, West Derby) a few days later (d. 17/12/1897) at the age of 32. An inquest in to John James's death was held on 20th December 1897.
At the time of the census in 1901, Eleanor Carr had moved to 107 Elias Street (Everton, Liverpool) with her 6 children. She was working as a washerwoman and had not remarried.
