John Wheatley, gg-grandson
of Thomas Rowland was one of our
family's early historians. He kept excellent notes and typed them up
with carbon copies to share with his siblings. This comes from the
archives of Peter Binkley, family historian, who has the original note.

Mamma has in her possession a pencil memorandum, a copy of which I give below.
She says that once she asked Aunt Lou (the wife of Mamma's brother Tom) to make
a copy of the family record given in an old Bible, which she thinks was the family Bible
of her mother, Eliza S. Humes, and which Bible was then in Uncle Tom's possession.
This Bible was destroyed by fire when Uncle Tom's home was burned. Mamma says she
believes this pencil copy, made by Aunt Lou, is a copy of the record in her mother's
family Bible.

married Nellie Watson; that Jesse Rowland was the grandfather of Aunt
Allie (Uncle Ed's first wife); that Silas and Joel Rowland never married.
