The Lackey - Rowland - Humes Family Bible | |
Sometime in the early 1960s a family archivist made and distributed copies of the "Family Pages" from an old bible that, according to family traditions, Rebecca Francis Lackey & Robert Madison Rowland received as a wedding gift. The ink on the original pages was faded, some of the handwriting difficult to read, and the copies themselves were of poor quality. Lackey were married on Thursday the 9th day of January 1857 in Rockbridge County, Virginia James Edwin Humes and Mary Alla Rowland were married on Thursday the 17th day of October 1872. William Thomas Farris and Isabel Victoria Rowland were married Thursday the ___ of December 1881. Mildred Marie Humes and Peter E Girard married at St. Joseph Idaho January 4, 1897. Walter Linke and Fanny Stuart Humes married at Post Falls, Idaho on Sunday May 31, 1897 by Rev. George L Deffenbaugh. Annie Isabel Humes and Burton A Smith married at Saltese, Washington Dec. 20, 1905. James E Humes (Jr.) and Lena Lindsey married at Saltese, Washington in 1905 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Births Robert Madison Rowland was born on the 11th of September 1822. Rebecca Frances Lacky was born on the 2nd of September 1828 Mary Alla Rowland was born on the 11th of February 1852 Anna Eliza Rowland was born on the 21st of September 1853 Elenore Poague Rowland born on the 29th of June 1854 Isabella Victoria Rowland was born on the 1st of November 1858 Robert Lackey Rowland born the 21st day of February 1861 Jesse Warren Rowland was born 22nd November 1863 Carrie Elma Humes was born May 7, 1890 Infant son was born April 13 1897 of J.E. and A.E. Humes Fannie Stuart Humes was born on the 16th of March 1874 Mildred Maria Humes was born on the 7th of January 1876 Annie Isabel Humes was born on the 18th of Sept 1877 James Edwin Humes ws born the 31st of October 1879 Charlotte Louisa Humes was born Jan 30th 1882 Infant daughter was born Sept 15th 1883 Roberta Rowland Humes was born Sept 22nd 1884 Julia Carouther Humes was born july 25, 1887 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Deaths Died on the 4th of October 1858 Elenor Poague, daughter of Robert M & Rebecca F. Rowland age 2 years 3 months. Died at Point Lookout Md. May 28th 1865 Robert M Rowland of Chronic Diarrhea. He was a member of Co. C 14th Va. Cavalry captured and taken to the military prison of the above named place. Aged 42 years, 6 months and 18 days. Died in Rockbridge Co Va. December 6 1873 R. Fannie Rowland of Paralysis. Aged 45 yrs 3m and 4 days. Charlotte Louisa Humes died February 16th 1882. Aged 17 days. Infant daughter died September 24th 1883 Aged 12 days. Mary Alla Humes died November 14th 1889. 37 years 9 months 3 days. James Edwin Humes Died December 17, 1912 near Wilbur, Washington. Annie Eliza Humes. Died May 20, 1916 near Beuge, Washington Isabel Victoria Farris died March 2, 1919 at Saltese Lake of paralysis. Fannie Stuart Linke died June 7, 1931 at Spokane. Annie Isabel Humes Smith died November 17, 1951 Yakima, Washington Mildred Marie Humes Girard died at Wallace, Idaho June 15, 1961 age 85 yr 5 mon 8days ~~~~~~~~ |
