Her grandmother, Paralee (Parlilee) Hancock, who is believed to have been half Cherokee, was married three times. I guess that's why there seems to be some confusion over which one was the father of Elmer Weaver. Probably it was Frank Roach, given the year of his birth, but you never know. . .
Elmer married Alice Mathilda Clifton long enough for them to have a daughter - Arietta Weaver. Then, they divorced and Elmer married Juanita Vincent. Meanwhile, Alice Clifton Weaver married John Cooper. Numerous children later, Juanita Vincent Weaver and John Cooper each died. Their deaths had no known connection, but it did get Elmer Weaver and Alice Clifton Weaver Cooper to thinking. So, they remarried and became Elmer Weaver and Alice Clifton Weaver Cooper Weaver. Got it? Me neither.
At any rate, since her mother and father were each married three
times, and her grandmother was married three times, my Grandmother Arietta
Weaver combined both numbers and married six times (only one divorce).
