   General Notes:

Not much is known about Jonathan Daniel. His death remains a mystery.
Inez Cannon Mayo remembers her grandfather. She remembers going to Van Zandt County as a child to visit her grandparents. She remembers they went by covered wagon. She also remembers finding her mother crying one day and when she asked what was wrong her mother told her that she just received word that her father had died. Inez does not remember when the death occured, just that it was far enough from Ellis County that they could not attend.
No death record for Jonathan has been found to date.
Inez remembers that her grandfather wasalways reading the Bible, and she thinks he may have been a Baptist preacher. Shealso remembers that Artie and Jonathan were probably separated. Artie is listed in the 1900 census in Waxahachie, Ellis Co., with her 2 sons but not Jonathan.
