In 2000 the second ANCESTORS television series appeared on PBS stations around the country. The television show aired in 30-minute segments over 13 weeks on the PBS network. Each segment detailed a difference type of record, and for each segment you could learn how to research the type of records, see interviews of experts on the subject, as well as hear a first hand account from a genealogist as to how the genealogist conducted his or her research for the designated record type.
After submitting my own written story for consideration and answering lots of questions from the production staff, I was one of the lucky ones who eventually appeared in the immigration segment of the program where I told the story of my search for Apollonia Spiegel who had died in Quarantine upon arriving in the USA and whose grave was unknown to my family for 83 years.
Below is a listing of the 13 TV Videos which can be viewed on Roots Television and the ANCESTORS web pages which give a synopsis of each program as well as suggestions for further research and guidelines. For teachers and instructors, there is also plenty of helpful information for teaching genealogy.
