Birth

I don't know when or where Reuben was born at this time.  According to "Deaths taken from the Otsego Herald & Western Advertiser and Freeman's Journal", Reuben died on Jan. 23, 2846 at the age of 58 years.  That would mean he was most likely born sometime in 1788.

Marriage

I don't know at this time who Reuben was married to or when or where they got married.

I believe Rueben is the free white male from age 16 to 25 listed in his father Aaron Smith's 1810 census listing.

1820 United States Federal Census

Reuben Smith, 2 free white males under the age of 10, 1 free white male of 10 and under 16 years of age, 1 free white male of 26 and under 45 years of age including heads of families, 2 free white females under 10 years of age, 1 free white female of 26 and under 45 years of age including heads of families, number of persons engaged in agriculture is 2.

Note:  I believe Reuben Smith is the free white male of 26 and under 45 years of age and Reuben's wife is the free white female of 26 and under 45 years of age.

Note:  Reuben is shown living next door to his Father Aaron and his family.

1830 United States Federal Census

Reuben Smith, 1 male under 5 years of age, 1 male of 10 and under 15 years of age, 1 male of 15 and under 20 years of age, 1 male of 20 and under 30 years of age, 1 male of 40 and under 50 years of age, 1 female under 5 years of age, 2 females of 5 and under 10 years of age, 1 female of 10 and under 15 years of age, 1 female of 15 and under 20 years of age, 1 female of 30 and under 40 years of age, total number of persons is 11.

Note:  I believe George Fennimore Smith is the male under 5 years of age, Reuben Smith would be the male of 40 and under 50 and Reuben's wife would be the female of 30 and under 40 years of age.

1840 United States Federal Census

Rubin Smith, 1 male from age 5 and under age 10, 1 male from age 15 and under age 20, 1 male from age 30 and under age 40, 1 male from age 50 and under age 60, 1 female from age 10 and under age 15, 1 female from age 15 and under age 20, 1 female from age 40 and under age 50, 7 total persons, 3 of these persons were employed in agriculture, 1 white person over the age of 20 who cannot read and write.

Note:  I believe George Fennimore Smith is the white male from age 15 and under age 20, Reuben Smith is the male from age 50 and under age 60 and Reuben's wife is the female from age 40 and under 50.

1850 United States Federal Census

Reuben died in 1846 so he wouldn't be in this census.  I have been unable to determine what his wife's name was. so I have been unable to look for her in the 1850 census.
