ANTHONY IRVIN(E) was born August 27, 1896 in Beverly Township1, and died November 1925 in Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada.  He married GERTRUDE MAY CUTTING February 25, 1915 in Strabane, Ontario, Canada2, daughter of WILLIAM CUTTING and ISABELLE NIESCH.  She was born January 21, 1897 in Erin, Ontario, Canada, and died March 07, 1951 in Twp.of Waterloo.

Irvin Bowman lived in Valens as a child. He moved to Hespeler to marry Gertrude Cutting.

A story, related to me by Irvin's nephew, Clarence Cutting, tells of Irv, brother Bill and young Clarence going on a hunting excursion. Irv lived not far from Clara and Bill Blacks house and they passed the house on the way to the country to hunt. A dog from Clara's house began to follow and the dog had playing, not hunting on it's mind. Irv remarked that the dog should be shot. It wasn't, but just the thought must have struck a cord with Clarence as that story has stuck in hismind all of these years.

Irvin and family lived on fisher Mills Road across from Victoria Park. From there the family moved up to Deer Lake north of Parry Sound to work at Bill Black's saw mill. Irv complained of stomach pains due to what he thought were ulcers. In tremendous pain, he was shipped on a "Gurney" (railway hand car) to Parry Sound where he died.

Emma Cutting/Johnson's (nee Bowman) granddaughter Doreen remembers visiting Bill Black's saw mill as a child. They would take the train to Parry Sound and Bill or Irv would pick them up in a truck. She recalls Irv as a very nice, quiet man who was fairly dark.
