Subject: Lida(Steele) Brown - Lida(Steele)Brown m. Frank Earnest Brown in Marion Co. Indiana. Frank was a mail carrier in Indianapolis, In.for a few years. Moved to Kansas for short time,then went to California. Frank was a Mail Carrier in California also. When they left Indiana they had 3 or 4 Children. looking for those children or their Children. Subject: Descendants of John (Ireland John) Steele and Margret McBurney from County Antrim, Ireland - Hi, I recently started flushing out my family tree... I am descended from John (Ireland John) Steele and Margret McBurney from County Antrim, Ireland. They immigrated to Lancaster Co., SC in 1792. They had nine children, including: Frank, Elizabeth, Laura, Alexander, Richard Wright, Joseph, and John Jr. (my link). John Steele, Jr. settled on a 1,000 acre property in Gwinette Co., GA. His wife's name is unknown, but we do know that she lived from 1791 - 1870. They had at least two children: T. Steele (1822-1832), and John F. Steele (July 16, 1816 - Nov 13, 1873). John F. married Matillia(?) Chamblee (Apr 15, 1850 - Sep 16, 1933). Their son George D. Steele was my 2nd-great grandfather. He first wife was Mary E. Steel (July 24, 1846 - April 4, 1869. He latter married Jane Gormon (April 15, 1850 - Sept. 16, 1933). George D. Steele served in Company A, 12th Battalion, Georgia Military Cavalry. I hope this information helps me establish contact with my "cousins" and other distant relations.

Subject: Ira Curry Steele b.1816 in Ohio - Hello Cousins! I have been working on a Steele Genealogy for many years, as was my father before me. The records are in Family Tree Maker Format. Subject: Ola/Olie/Ollie Steel(e) - I'm searching for my greatgrandfather Ola/Olie/Ollie STEEL(E)b. abt 1882. My greataunts have said that he was born in Defiance Co OH, but I have not been able to locate birth records of him there at all. Subject: THOMAS STEEL - I am looking for information on Thomas Steel B 28jun1848. I believe that he was born in Scotland. He was a merchant seaman and was married in 11NOV1870 to Sarah Rodman b 17Jan1849 in Saltcoats Scotland. They had 10 children:

They all were born in Saltcoats, Scotland. From written history Thomas sailed the world. Sarah was always listed as head of household in census. Thomas settled in Johanesburg South Africa where he was a partner in a gold mine. Wanted Sarah to immigrate with him but she refused. After birth of Marion she became ill. Thomas came to visit twice before her death, hiring a nurse to care for her. When Sarah died the nurse traveled to South Africa and married Thomas. They had one daughter. I know from my aunt, (daughter of Jane) Elizabeth Strachan Whybra that son John also settled in South Africa and son Thomas died there. Jane Steel married a man named Steel also but I don't know where or when. She had two sons with him James b 1900 and son Wilson b after 1886. Wilson was killed in WWI. Jane remarried Andrew Strachan 18NOV1902. I am interested to know Thomas' parents. If anyone has information about Thomas or any of his children please contact me. The dates of the births came from a handwritten copy of the flyleaf of a bible.

Subject: Samuel Steele born in 1794 in KY - I have reached a brick wall in trying to trace back from Samuel Steele who was my husband's gggrandfather. Samuel was born in 1794 in KY and married Sarah Porter in Butler Co., OH in 1821. They had five children: Eliner, William P., James R., John E., and Mary Jane. The children were born in OH and IN. The family eventually settled in Caldwell Co., MO. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
