Subject: Steeles of Madison Co., Iowa - Hi Tom, I'm looking for a line of the Steele Family which was in Madison Co., Iowa during the mid to late 1800's. Barbara Ellen Steele b. 1847, is my ggrandmother who married John B. Leverich 16 Aug., 1868, moved to Cleveland Co., Oklahoma in 1889. Lots of Steeles and Leverichs in Madison, probably came through Ohio from Pa. to Iowa. Thanks for any help on this line of the Steele Family.

Subject: Steele/White families from Mercer & Wyoming Co. WV - Seeking information about my gg grandfather, Patton G. White(1827-1862) of Wyoming Co. WV, his wife, Rhoda and their family. Also seeking information about the family of my other gg-grandfather, William French Steele (1839-1929) and his wife, Rhoda Ann Meadows. They had 15 children, and I would also like information about their eldest daughter, Sarah (b-1859) who married Martin Sherman and lived in Ohio. Have extensive family information on these White and Steele lines that I'll gladly share with others.

When he came from Sweden he was Anders Larsson Stal, but arriving in America his name was changed to Andrew Lars STEELE. He married a young widow w/3 small children--- Caroline LAGERQUIST/ERICKSON. Subject: Steel(e)s of NEW YORK - My ancester, Allen Steele came from Co.Donegal Ireland to New York City @1833 aboard the Ship "Russia". He was born about 1814 and d. July 20, 1881 in Brooklyn. He lived mostly in Manhatten. As far as I know everyone was born and died in Manhatten His wife Susan Gallagher was b.1814 and D. Feb 1875. Allen Steele remarried after his first wife died to a "Sarah" who died in 1893 and is buried in Cypress Hills Cem, Brooklyn. Allen, his first wife, and son James are buried in Calvery Cemtery, Queens, NY. Allen and Susan had the following children:

Charles Born 1846

Loretta B. may 8, 1882 Married to Charles Francis Ware Jan 15, 1900. She did in April 28, 1920 durign the influenze epidemic. Loretta was my ggrandmother.
