Subject: Delbert Eugene Steele, b Hugo, Okla. - Hello--My name is Tonnie Anne Steele. My father, Delbert Eugene Steele, was born in Hugo, Oklahoma. He had a brother, Claude, and a sister, Colleen. His mother was named Tonnie Lou Donham. I don't know much about the history other than the Steele's came from England.

Subject: Alonzo Steele - Looking for a Alonzo Steele who married a Ethyl Goodwin in Annadale, Minnesota on or about 1893. He fathered a Marion Wm. Steele and a Merton Steele (Twins) Merto died in WWI of flu and Marion Wm. Steele married a Elizabeth Alice Dugan in Minneapolis, Minn on or about 1920 and they had children named Marion Wm. Steele - Robert Louis Steele - Bonnie Jean Steele and Frederick Nealon Steele Alonzo disappeared on or about 1894 and it is rumored that he went to Kentucky.

Subject: Steel's of Westmoreland, VA - Does anyone know anything about John Steel b. about1670;m. to Margaret-- He had sons Richard, John, Thomas, Charles, and daughters Sara, Margaret, and Mary. I have Deeds and Wills which will be posted on the Repository shortly, however, I would like to know what happened to them after 1750..Most Particularly Richard Steel...We know from Records that Charles and John died there..That leaves Samuel and Richard and the girls.

Lived WA & ID. 5 children. Disappeared for 6 months out of the year, possibly had another family. Just don't know anything else about him. Hope someone knows him.

Subject: James A. Steele, 1818-1887, MO>IL - Looking for info on James A. STEELE, born 2 Feb. 1818 in Missouri and died in Illinois in 1887. He was married to Jane HALL, born about 1820. Their children were: Carrie, Laura Loretta, Lincoln, Yates, and Emma. Carrie may have come from a previous marrage. My great-grandmother was Laura Loretta Steele, born 5 Oct. 1857 in Greenville, IL and died 29 Jan. 2940 in Guthrie, OK. Her obituary in 1940 stated she had 2 surviving brothers, Nick L. (Lincoln?) Steele and Jake (could this be Yates?), both living in IL.

Subject: James (Jim) Steele, Oklahoma - I am looking for relatives of James Steele, a law enforcement officer killed in a bank robbery in Quapaw, Oklahoma around 1930. He was married to Virginia Shelley(?) and had two daughters, Mary L. and Cloyse. This James is buired in Vinita Oklahoma in an unmarked grave. Anyone with info on James or the bank robbery, please contact.

Subject: Francis Steele; 1741-1817; PA - Francis STEELE was born in 1741 in Londonderry, Northern Ireland. He died on 17 Apr 1817 in Pennsylvania Furnace, Pennsylvania (Centre County). He was married to Margaret CROW on 9 May 1771 in The Big Valley, Pennsylvania. Margaret CROW was born in 1752 in County Derry, Northern Ireland. She died on 9 Apr 1839 in Centre County, Pennsylvania.
The descendants of Francis Steele and Margaret Crow are listed in the attached descendants list. The data is incomplete and anything which will add to it's completion is most welcome.

Subject: Major John Stevens Steele born 1810 - I am looking for info. on Major John Stevens Steele born 1810. He is the son of James Steele and Elizabeth Stevens. Major Steele married Isabella Marris and had one daughter that I know of Sarah Eleanor Steele. Sarah married George Frederick Musgrave. Major Steele was in the Confederate army. James Steele and Elizabeth Stevens were married June 12, 1802 in Monongalia, W.Va. Major Steele is burried in Phillipi, W.Va.

Subject: Steele's from AL & MS - I am looking for any information on decendants of Eliza Jane Potts (maiden) Steele. Birthdate:12-25-1882 - Deathdate:2-15-1967
She died in Ruleville, Mississippi and was buried in Drew, Mississippi. She was married to Eli Delander Christopher Robert Calvin Steele. They had 4 children, Ellis, Nannie Pearl, Effie and Margie. They were married around 1904 in Alabama. One of the children, Ellis, was born in Jasper, Alabama in 1912, not sure of the others. Ellis was my grandfather. Any information on any known decendants would be greatly appreciated. This is all of the informaion I have on my g-g grandparents other than some old photos I have.

Subject: CHARLES STEELE>MASS>ALA b. abt. 1780 - I am looking for the parents of CHARLES STEELE b.abt 1780. He is living in Mobile Ala. in 1822 because this is the year his daughter MARY L. STEELE m. RUSSELL W. LEWIS. According to cencus records MARY was born in Mass in 1801.
In 1830 CHARLES is listed as being 50-60 yrs old on the cencus records.
In Ala from1810-1816 are records of a JOSEPH STEELE (Madison CO.)and a widow FANNY STEELE (Baldwin Co.) listed in records.Maybe a connection?
Children of CHARLES STEELE are MARY L. STEELE LEWIS, BENJAMIN CHARLES STEELE, JOSEPH STEELE, and MARTHA JANE STEELE PARTRIDGE. Also names a nephew CHARLES S. PARTRIDGE as trustee for MARTHA and her children.
This would mean CHARLES married a PARTRIDGE or his sister did. Any help would be appreciated.

FULLER children were ARCHIBALD, JOHN, WILLIAM G, ELIZABETH, AMELIA D.; LESTER D. and THOMAS DOUGHTON (my ancestor). Additional information - My father John Edward Steele was born in either IL or IN in 1922. His birth certificate says IN but all other records I can find says IL. I will have to look later to see what cities and county. He went in to the Army Air Corps in 1942 or 43. I don't have alot to go on here but to my understanding he was only in about one year and had a honarable discharge (medical). I also understand that he was highly decorated. He married his first wife named - Patricia Billingsly around the same time he got out (or so) 1944 or 45. They had 2 boys. Patricia died in 1967. My father married my mother Theresa Riendeau in 1969. They had me. He died in June 1984 of lung cancer and emphysema. He died in IN and is buried in Indianapolis,IN. If ANYONE could help - please contact me.

Subject: Lorenzo Dow Steele - I see the name Lorenzo Dow Steele is a son of Frank Steele. I am wondering if you know if the original name Lorenzo Dow was someone famous at that time. I have a relative from TN (now NC) b. 1827 named Lorenzo Dow Tow II he died in Whitely Co. KY. His father was William Tow and mother Nancy Turner?, I have no other info.
Lorenzo Dow seems like an unsual name. Do you care to spectulate on its origin?

Hi, my name is Thomas Gary Ebling, I am trying to get information on my ggGrandfather Thomas Steele Born ?, died ?, He Married Ann Eliza Graig. She was born 2 Jan. 1829 and died 15 Dec 1867. They Had 3 children:
1. William Elgy - (never married), born 8 Sep. 1860, Died ?
2. Mary Clementine - Born 27 Jun 1862, Dallas, Virginia - Died 26 Jun 1944, Buried in Springdale Cemetery, Peoria, Illinois - she married my gGrandfather James Walter Garrison on 5 Oct 1882, at West Alexander Presbyterian Church, PA. they were married by Mary's uncle, Doctor Samuel Agar Craig (his Grandfather was the Rev. John Brice, Samuel Agar Craig was an Elder in what was his Grandfather's Church).

Subject: Steele, Elizabeth "Liza" A. - My 2nd ggmother was Elizabeth A. "Liza" Steele b. Nov 8, 1854 in VA. she died abt 1889 in Logan Co., West Virginia. She was married to George Washington Richards a. June 10, 1840 in Logan Co., VA now WVA. Haven't been able to locate her parents. Has anyone heard or know my Elizabeth Steele? Any help would be appreciated. I did find a Reuben Steel family in McDowell Co., (West) Virginia with a dau named Elizabeth at age 5 on the 1860 census. Could this be my Elizabeth Steele?

Subject: NINIAN STEELE/ REBECKAH - John Steele was a cooper/mariner in Greenock. One of his brothers, Donald, went to Prince Edward Island around 1805. John's son James Steel had lighters then tugboats on the Clyde. Two of his eight sons remained in the business, three went to India and were involved with tea and two went to Melbourne, Australia.

Subject: Parents of Minerva Steele, b. about 1818-20 somewhere in MS - Are you in charge of the STEELE Repository? I am looking for a possible member of Ninian Steele's family through Archibald...maybe. I have a Steele Family History that connects Ninian to the Steeles of MS. Specifically, I am looking for the parents of Minerva Steele, b. about 1818-20 somewhere in MS, but know not where. My instincts point me to Amite/Wilkinson counties which is on the LA border, south of Natchez. Does any of this correspond to what you may have? Minerva is a common name for several female Steeles. My Minerva was in New Orleans before 1840.

Subject: Is there a Steele/Stealey Connection? - My surname (as you can see) is 'Stealey.' Normally I wouldn't think there is any relation between 'Steele' and 'Stealey,' except that both come from the same general area--West By God Virginia (proper spelling), in my family's case.
