Subject: james meadows - what ever happend to the meadows family court case that claimed several texas oil companys owed the family royalties on oil and land that was owned by james meadows. i was involved with this a few years back , but have since lost track of what was the final outcome. any info or corrispondince will be appriciated.

Subject: Meadows/Steele families from Mercer & Wyoming Co. WV - Seeking information about my gg grandfather, Patton G. White(1827-1862) of Wyoming Co. WV, his wife, Rhoda and their family. Also seeking information about the family of my other gg-grandfather, William French Steele (1839-1929) and his wife, Rhoda Ann Meadows. They had 15 children, and I would also like information about their eldest daughter, Sarah (b-1859) who married Martin Sherman and lived in Ohio. Have extensive family information on these White and Steele lines that I'll gladly share with others.

Subject: Meadows and Ratliff - I found you site from CyndisList and saw that you have Meadows and Ratliff in your family. Do you have any of these families that were from Tazwell Co. and Buchanan Co. VA. I have 2 generations that were married: 1st was Drewey Meadows b) abt 1818 who married sometime prior to 1850 to Rebecca Ratliff b) abt 1827. Their son Frances Meadows b) abt 1843 married to Clara Ratliff b) abt 1843.
Any information or help would be greatly appreciated. I do have some information on these families.

Subject: Meadows/Meador - Hi, I was checking out Monroe Co. web page and came across your name. I am the g-granddaughter of Vincent and Mary Jane Hornsby Meadows. Edith Jane's oldest brother. I have only been researching the family tree since Jan,1997. I am still trying to find out why and when some of the family changed the name from Meador to Meadows. I have been told two different stores. Jacob/Joab married Polly "Dove" Ovington (an Indian) and the family didn't want him too. His name was Meador on the 1795 Botetourt Co. marriage bond records. Then it was because Josiah & Lavina committed treason.They split up. He started going by Francis and married a Mary Bell. I was thinking he had died when Rosannah Meador married Thomas Lilly. Only Lavina Meador's name was on the Montgomery Co. marriage bond. I am also looking for more info on Mary Jane Hornsby Meadows's father Joshua Hornsby. I have alot on Sena Vance Hornsby, but not on Joshua before he married Sena or after the 1900 Wyoming Co.,WV census. Maybe we can trade info on the Meadows?

Subject: Meadows/Meador 1800 Monroe,WV - I come from the Jacob/Hannah Meadows line. My records show they came from Giles and Mercer Co, Jacob went to Floyd Co., Ky in 1850 , and then to Greenup Co. John married Nancy and stayed in Logan, W.V. John is my g.g.grandfather. I am not sure if Jacob changed his name when he married Polly "Dove" Ovington or if it was his father Josiah (after he left Lavina to marry Mary K. Bell) who went from Meador to Meadows Rosanna and Edith's was Meador when they married the Lilly's. Jacob was listed both ways on the Botetourt, Va. records. If you have anything different, let me know.

Subject: ANNA MEADOWS WHITED - I may have written to you before but I have been trying for months now to find out the parents of my gggrandmother Anna Meadows who lived in Russell Co after marrying Robert Whited around 1838 or so. Their oldest son was named Harvey so I think that may be her fathers name, but I am not sure. She would have been born around 1820 or so.
