Notes:

1.       Earliest references I have found for Pierre Bouchard are two a land petitions, one in 1816 and another in 1819 which states that: Peter Bouchard, native of Canada about 30 years old has been in Arichat above 7 years. Purchased along with Ambroise Gagnon (also from Canada) part of lot 27 and requests a grant.

2.       In 1863 Marine Bouchard daughter of Jean Bouchard (dec) and Marine Sampson married Justinian Sampson in L’Ardoise.  Justinian d. 1874 and his wife is again listed as Marine Bouchard. Her relationship to this Bouchard family is not yet established. Given the number of children listed in 1838 there are a number of others not yet accounted for.
