The earlier generation of the Bort Family passages to America

Great Grand Uncle Fred Bort and his sister Ricki Bauer nee Bort came to America before 1898.

 

Friedrich Bort came back to Germany and sailed from Antwerp on May 7, 1898 with his bride to be Karoline Deininger along with cousin Karoline Gock and a possible cousin Friedrich Geist. Passenger Manifest of S.S. Southwark

Grandpa Bort and his siblings passages to America

Great Uncle Fred Bort came to America in 1911 to avoid going to war and Aunt Lena Schell nee Bort came to America in 1913.  It wasn't until after World War I in 1921 that America permitted Germans to come into the country.  The rest of the family joined them in 1921.  Some of the family remained in Germany to raise their families.

 

     
     

Frederick Bort came to America aboard SS Kroonland.  He arrived October 11, 1911.

Lena Bort came to America aboard SS  Patricia.  She arrived December 11, 1913.

William and Anna Metzger along with daughter Annaliese came to America aboard SS Mount Clinton.  They arrived October 4, 1921. SS Mount Clinton

SS Bayern Otto, Karl, and Adolf Bort came to America aboard SS Bayern.  They arrived on December 10, 1921 and were the last to come over of the Adam Bort Family.
