Molly's Tribute

We first met Molly at the Westerville, Petland on December 15, 1995.  We held her on that Friday night and decided to go back and get her on Saturday.  Our hearts sank when we got there and she wasn't in her cage.  Then we looked and found that her cage was moved so our hearts rejoiced.  Her brown eyes caught our attention and it was love at first sight.  That is how Molly became a part of our lives forever.  We named her Molly because we adopted her before Christmas.

The below "You Tube" video "of Spencer" reminds us of Molly's energy as a puppy.  Molly was enrolled in "Puppy Kindergarten".  She did well, but being a puppy, she had more than enough energy to run off.  She wouldn't bark or let us know when she needed to go outside so at one of her lessons we asked how we could train her.  It was suggested that she be trained to ring a bell.  We purchased a cow bell at Andersons General Store and for about 6 weeks every time that before she would go out we would take her paw and ring the bell.  Then one day Molly rang the bell by herself and went outside potty.  What a moment!

Adventures of Molly

On March 7, 1996 Nearly lost Molly when she broke away from me in the snow.  Couldn't catch her.  Got biscuits to entice her to come to me.  Somewhere out in the front yard there are biscuits.

On March 19, 1996 I took Molly outside and she growled.  I brought her back in and gave her breakfast.  Had Stephen take her outside.  She growled and barked at her first rabbit!

On March 20, 1996 I made the comment that Molly likes snow.

On March 25, 1996 Stephen put Molly outside on a chain.  Suddenly we didn't see Molly. Molly had broken the chain.  Stephen went out to get her.  I shook her biscuit box and called her name, "Molly!"  She came a running.

On May 3, 1996 I brought Molly upstairs at night and she slept on the floor on a blanket.

On May 4, 1996 Molly slept all night upstairs.  She rang the bell before going outside.  She had an adventure with traveling to the Post Office and church building.  I sat in the back seat with Molly.
