Lew tried his hand in many different jobs. He joined the Navy after his mother died. He ran liquor during prohibition, worked at a dry cleaners and was a baggage loader for the railroad when a work related accident ended his life. He played guitar and was know to join Wade "Pappy" Ray on the old time radio show on KMOX, St. Louis, Missouri during the 1940's.
He was born in Benton, KY
Very likely lived in Oak Level, KY as a boy
Moved to Camden, Arkansas with his family and uncle "Lonnie" Nance's family ca 1918.
1920 Census recorded in Camden with his Uncle "Lonnie's" family and brother Elmer - his mother had died and father had moved with younger sister Ruby in tow.

Oddly, I have not found any photos of me with my grandfather. I was the first of his grandchildren and the only one that he met.
