EATON RAY b: ca 1800, Va. m: ca 1828, Wayne Co, Tenn to RACHEIL _________ (may be Battles, Casey or Moore - you decide).
Rachel Ray brought a case against William Battle/s et al in Wayne Co, Tn after the death of Mary Battles. Notice was actually published in Purdy, Tn - check with Joan Rose for more info: 800 N. Smith Rd #24Z, Bllmington, In 47408.
Wayne Co Inventories & Settlements LDS film # 0549274 provides information on the estate of Eaton Ray. It also lists a William Ray and Stephen Ray. I have no idea who Stephen Ray is! I have copies of these documents which are rather hard to read.
Eaton Ray was probably the brother who accompanied Hix Jones Ray on his journey from Allen Co, Ky to Wayne Co, Tenn via New Orleans. OLD Eaton spent his life in Tennessee, was a religious and well respected man in his community.

Eaton Ray is also one of my ancestors through the Turnbo Family Line. My
grgrandfather Neal Mal Hardin married Rachel Turnbo, d/o Squire Hugh Turnbo.
By any chance do you have any information on the Hardins? Rachel is list as
being alive in her father's will, but was listed as deceased in her mother's
will. I have no information on when she died or when Neal Mal died. I have very
little information on the Ray family, just what I received from Ermadine Turnbo
