John H. SARRETT, died on 23 Mar. 1899, when his "Balance Due of $94.06" was Court Decreed,
to his brother J. CROCKETT SARRETT, on the 7th. Settlement date 26 May 1899 as well as $4.75
interest on same on 10 Jul. 1899.
For reasons Unknown, JOHN H. SARRETT, owed his brother J. CROCKETT
SARRETT, two Promissory Notes, a total of $657.96, plus $42.42
interest, plus 10% Attorney fees making a total of $770.38. brother
J. CROCKETT filed a Bill against brother JOHN H. on 2nd. Jan.
1897, Case #733, Sevier Co., Court. A Notice was published in the
Sevierville Star newspaper, for 4 weeks for JOHN H., to appear
in court, because he was a Non-resident of the State of Tenn. The
Court Ordered, Adjudged and Decreed on the 27th. of April 1897 to
put JOHN H.SARRETT'S 1/8th. interest in the Sarrett Homeplace
up for auction, to recover his debts. But it seems, brother PETER
W. SARRETT, bought JOHN H., 1/8th interest for $250, on 2nd Aug.
1897, as per J. CROCKETT SARRETT'S, petition of 25th Oct. 1897,
which requested the bidding to be reopened. This was Ordered, Adjudged
and Decreed by the court the next day on the 26th. Oct., that brother
J. CROCKETT, was the highest bidder at $475, for JOHN H. SARRETT'S
1/8th interest, and being JOHN H. owed him $770.38, the Court consider
this a cancellation of the judgment. |

He was 2 years old when his father SAMUEL H. SARRETT, dec'd died
in 1890; He was one of the eight Minor Heirs listed in his brother
J. CROCKETT SARRETT, Administrator's & Executor's Bond application
on 26 May 1890; Was 5 years of age, living at home when his mother
filed, her Guardian Bond on 16 Jan. 1893; Was 5 years old, when
received $23.97 1st. Settlement of his fathers Personal Property
on 27th. Sep. 1893 and $9.22 2nd. Settlement on 1st. Jan. 1894;
He was 7 years old, and listed in ANDREW J. KYKER, Guardian of
Minor Heirs on 22nd. Aug. 1895; Was 8 years old, when listed on the
next years Guardian Bond dated 1st. Aug. 1896;
Saml. GEORGE SARRETT, was 9 years old, when a Balance Due $97.71 was issued on the 6th. Settlement dated 1st. Aug. 1897; Was 11 years old when a Balance Due of $109.63 was issued on the 7th. Settlement date 26 May 1899; Saml. GEORGE SARRETT was listed as living with his brothers family PETER W. SARRETT, along with mother and sister, at age 12 yrs. and Attending School in the 1900 Census 27 for Sevier Co., TN.; He was 12 years old when a Balance Due of $212.89 was issued on the 8th. Settlement dated 1st. Aug. 1900. Its interesting to note that he received 1/3rd. of $267.50, from the Clerk & Master, probably from the 1/8th. interest of brother JOHN H. SARRETT. He also paid 90 cents for "In Change of Books."; He was 13 years old, when a Balance Due him of $518.41 was issued on the 9th. Settlement dated 3rd. Sep. 1901. It's interesting to note he received a $300 entry received from the Clerk and Master, again this must had been another 1/8th. interest sold. A "Tuition" of $1.60 was paid to J. R. CARYMAN, from his account. Saml. GEORGE SARRETT, died 13 days later on the 17th of Sep. 1901; On 30 Dec. 1901, friend ANDREW J. KYKER, filed a $2,000 Bond and was appointed Administrator of the Estate of GEORGE SARRETT, dec'd, its not known hat happen to his $518.41 Balance. |
