We have been told by David Brown

John Sarrett of Chattanooga, (Hamilton Co., TN. )
originally from Georgia but changed his last name to 
"CEREATT"
 after the Lincoln assasination.  

This would make John M. SARRATT, a21y in 1865, but in the 
1870 Census for New Hanover Co., NC. he was living with his brother-in-law
J. Jacob ZIMBELIN as "SARRATT: not CEREATT ..prs


John M. SARRATT, age 26y has been identified living with his
Brother-in-Law John Jacob & Laura "Eugenia" (SARRATT) ZIBELIN
in the 1870 Census for New Hanover, Co. NC.
