d. 17 May 1900, age of 97 years, Gaffney, Cherokee Co., SC.
Buried in the "PETTY Family" Cemetery near Gaffney, Cherokee Co., SC.;

Mrs. M. "Polly" (MOORE) PETTY was the 1st Dau of John & Martha (MOORE) CANNON
[and Granddaughter of Ellis CANNON, a Revolutionary War veteran who moved from Va. to SC after the war.]
She was the brother Gabriel CANNON (1806-1893, a87y) served SC as State Senator, State Representative, and Lieutenant-Governor. m. *1840 Nancy T. COLLINS.
She also was sister of Ruth CANNON (1809-1887, a77y) who married c1833 Stephen's brother James PETTY, [REF:#003]
