In [REF:#002] list A Jacob Suratt signed 
what appears to be some sort of dowry or loan that was 
on condition that the marriage took place, for
Margaret E. SURRATT and John A. LASSITER who were married May 17, 1853, in Tishomingo Co.  
I have a copy of this document.

Jacob,4 SURRATT, age 21yrs was a "Brother" of Margaret E. SURRATT, why
would he sign Dowry and NOT her Father G.C. SURRATT? ..prs
