Surratt married Elizabeth Keistler August-29-1883 in Tippah Co., Ms. She was previously married into this Keistler name. In 1900 Lee Co., Ms. pg. 44, John and Elizabeth are enumerated next to her son, Hoyl A. Keistler and his family. Does anyone know who this JOHN L SURRATT is? He's 57 years old, born Tn. Father b. Virginia and mother b. SC. I think it says they run a grocery store. They had a daughter born in 1869 in Prentiss county. Her name was Mary Caroline Geno. Any help would be appreciated. Mary Caroline's granddaughter is trying to find out about the family prior to 1869 and would like to know where Margaret is buried. Also, am trying to locate information on a Majet family that migrated to Mississippi, possibly from South Carolina. Nicholas Majet was born 5-11-1776 and died 10-23-1859.
