This photo, is believed taken Christmas Day in 1917, at
Great-Grandmother Anna S. (McLAUGHLIN) SMITH's (age 65yrs)
front yard, at the "Smith's Homeplace" at
3021 Bellefountaine Ave., Kansas City, (Jackson Co.) Missouri. Anna was born on 25 Aug 1852, at Philadelpha, PA. a daughter of William & Catherine (McGLENDY) McLAUGHLIN of Ireland. She died age 77y on 11 Jul 1930, Kansas City, MO. She is buried at the Mt St. Mary's Cemetery, 23rd & Mersington, Kansas City, MO. where a headstone marks her grave. At age 24yrs in 1876, Davanport, Scott Co., IA. she married to John T. SMITH, (1851-1930) they had eight children, but only four grew to maturity. One being my Grandmother Mary Charlottie SMITH (1877-1947) who married my Grand-father Hugh Ezekiel SARRETT. The child on her lap is my father Paul R. SARRETT, age 3 months (1917-1968) Sister Mary Ann SARRATT, (who later married Ernie R. DeVASHER) age 18 months, standing on the left (1915-1979) Photo from the personal collection of my mother M.
