SERITT Family Date: Tue, 3 Apr 2001 9:39:55 PM Eastern Daylight Time Subj: On Reading Your WebPage... My Name is Seritt Hi. I ran across your most interesting article on the Seritt name while researching my family name. I would like to thank you so much for shedding alot of light on this subject. I have never done any real research on our name, but through the years I've been told that the name was French; by family members and others. I was born in Birmingham, [Jefferson Co.] Alabama, but my family moved to New Orleans when I was 14 years old. Upon my arrival in New Orleans, a feeling came over me that I've never been able to tell anyone about[for fear I'd be labeled as "crazy"].I immediately felt that I had finally found "my home". I had an overwhelming feeling that I had been there before and everything was so familiar to me. Somehow, it was as if I knew what was around every corner before I turned it! It was a most delightful feeling to say the least! Well, I'm sorry to babble on. Again, I'd like to thank you for helping me realize that what I felt and still do was real and the reason for my feeling that way was because of my roots in France. Vicki Seritt Miranda...vmirand@bellsouth.net Vickie, Thanks for the E-Mail and Kind words! Which "Branch" the the SERITT family are you "Connected to? Do we have you Family Group (FG) in our SURRATT/SARRATT/SARRETT Families of America (SFA) database? ..prs |

I need to make a correction on my Father's DOB: 8-11-27 not 1926! My pat. grandfather was John Frank Sarrat, b. 6-10-1895, m.8-18-1926, d.3-19-1953. I know he was married and died in New Orleans and my father is an only child. My grandfather had some relatives in St. Louis but my father does not remember much else. John Frank Sarrat married Agnes Cecile O'Brien; b.6-22-1898, d.6-4-1961. I went to the SARRETT/SARRATT/SURRATT and I spent several hours there! It is very interesting!
